Lightning Chat about Human Resources for Health with Catherine Kane (World Health Organization)
Lightning chats are rapid-fire Q&A sessions with a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Their goal is to:
- help national and sub-national immunization professionals to understand what is new and different and what this means for their work; and
- provide them with basic information and relevant resources.
Here are the questions we asked to kick off the Lightning Chat:
1. What is the vision for human resources for health and why is it relevant now? What are current HRH challenges that affect immunization service delivery and performances?
2. What are the principles that govern the global strategy on human resources for health? What does this global strategy seek to attain?
3. Within the IA2030 context, why is it essential to ensure the availability of a quality health workforce? What impact will this have on immunization performances?
4. What are the key considerations in Human resources for health planning?
5. What measures can be taken to fill in the gaps in terms of availability, accessibility, acceptability, and service delivery of healthcare workers?
6. What practical advice can you give national EPI teams as they develop their National Immunization Strategies on how to optimize performance, quality, and impact of the health workforce as far as immunization service delivery is concerned?
7. If all of the current HRH-related challenges were resolved, what will success look like for you in the year 2030?
