Boys talk the future, depth and potential QB contraversy with Trey Lance, the changes that are likely to come to the offense, while recapping this year's draft, as well as drafts past, under the Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch regime.

Noah Johnston (@Coach_NJohnston) joins Roh (@rothugsnharmony) after his ripping of Kyle Shanahan - to recap the NFL Draft. 

The boys literally get on the mic around the mid 7th round, and the fellas go down the list of players picked by the 49ers and then start talking Undrafted Free Agents - where, as we know, are some DIAMONDS (think Mostert, Edelman, Jeff Wilson Jr.). 

Roh tries to get Noah's perspective on football, the NFL, the 49ers, as an actual football coach at the high school level. 

Although Roh sounds happy with Trey Lance, he is still skeptical - and questions locker room chemistry heading into 2021.

At the end of the day, sounds like Roh wants the 49ers to march #ONWARDS with this new chapter, but still seems to think about the best possible scenario for Jimmy Garappolo. 

Noah puts his coaching hat on and breaks down a lot of X's and O's when it comes to scheme fits and the nine yards. 

Roh describes Trey Lance as the QB with the least warts, excluding Trevor Lawrence, and how New England is the best landing place for Mac Jones.

Definitely a nice sequel to the previous episode, and a wonderful and comprehensive debrief of the 49ers draft, and what it means going forward.

Roh (@rothugsnharmony) absolutely rips into Kyle Shanahan while unloading a lot of baggage, emotion and perspective that he has been withholding. 

In summary, Roh explains (from his POV) how Kyle and John have utterly screwed this up by betting the house on an unproven rookie QB, and flat out denies any knack Kyle has for picking quarterbacks.

Roh talks about the consequences of mortgaging the future and alienating Jimmy Garoppolo, while Noah Johnston (@Coach_NJohnston) bravely joins the show and tries his best to cheer up the spirit, while also tempering expectations. 

Noah explains why his expectation for 2021 is no longer a Lombardi trophy.

After venting, the fellas share their predictions for the NFL draft, the future they see for the 49ers based on the sequence of events that have been, and that is potentially to come. 

Roh considers his venting, the unleashing of hard truths and opinions.

Thomas Moore (@TomAandTom1) joins Roh (@Rothugsnharmony) for a very interesting and wholistic discussion.

The two have a little bit of a  Skip and Shannon vibe going - right off the bat - that makes us think that these two could make a could team going forward. 

The boys dive into the tough topic of race and discern covert and overt racism in general, but specifically, as it spills into sports, particularly the way the QB position is viewed, 'traditionally' in the NFL and College. 

Do you think race plays a role in decision-making? 
Is it simply a matter of preference between QB archetypes? 

Is it a coincidence that most athletic, dual-threat QB's are African American, whereas white QB's are traditional 'field general' pocket passers? 

Is it covert, potentially sometimes overt racism, or is it just a pure cost v benefit data-driven decision making, or perhaps a little bit of both? 

We like to stick to sports, but we would reminisce if we did not have the courage to breach and push the needle on issues relating to social justice, whether it be in the aftermath of yet another police shooting or the countdown to the NFL Draft.

Jack's got Mac Jones as the pick for the 49ers at number 3, and Roh can't help but agree. 

The two look at the lens of the 49ers, this team, and years past, through many angles, to answer some of the questions of today. 

Conclusion: Success breeds success, but honestly we're all just guessing.

Jesse "Nostradamus" Naylor comes pack to pick us off the cliff.  In the previous episode, Jesse told Roh (@rothugnsharmony) that he's actually not a big fan of Zach Wilson, and how he'd take Trey Lance or Justin Fields over him. 

The fellas put their lawyer hats on and argue who would be in the defense's seat if this next year doesn't pan out and sadly either John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan are to be fired. 

They talk about tempering expectations for the draft, this next season because of the anomalies in sports, and the many different ways teams can reach success. 

Jesse brings up an interesting stat: The amount of time a QB has in the pocket and correlating that to the amount times a QB gets sacked. 

If the intention is to win a Superbowl, it is a fact that no rookie has ever won a Superbowl. 

We will find out in 2 weeks or so.

Recap:
Roh (@RothugnsHarmony) and Jesse discuss why Jesse has Trey Lance over Justin Fields while talking about off-the-field issues, alpha male mentalities, and Kyle Shanahan's very tight leash, and his love for limiting variables on the field, and how that could affect who the 49ers will pick. 

Jesse talks about adversity, growth, maturity, and other subtle intangibles that can give you the best barometer to determine the success of a QB,  whether it's a large sample size or a smaller sample size, which is the case in 2021 - and Jesse hammers this home with a really interesting conversation that occurred between Michael Vick and Steve Young - regarding how to be a true "leader".

The fellas talk about how to properly temper expectations when it comes to young QB's, with no proper combine, potentially no Wonderlic test, shortened offseason - it's crucial, love him or hate him, to have Jimmy G start this upcoming season.

Roh (@rothugsnharmony) and Raj of @ourSF49ers report back with their Wonderlic scores and continue their discussion about the importance of that score and the correlation between high scores and success. 

The boys then compare Mac Jones and Justin Fields, line item by line item. 

Roh vouches for Mac, and Raj for Fields, as the two go toe to toe, trying to find some kind of reasonable conclusion to this argument. 


Conclusion: 

Based on their criteria, Mac Jones and Justin Fields tied 7-7, meaning the Wonderlic test (if they have it this year), will be the tiebreaker, and if the 49ers draft Mac, beers on Raj. 

If the Niners get Fields, beers on Roh.
