The term Xennial has come to fashion in the last 10 years or so. It's been used to apply to people born betweeen 1976-84. On the latest GenX Show Jeff talks about how that term should apply to those born between 1981-84. How the inauguration of Ronald Reagan in 1981 started the change between GenX kids and Millennial and how parents fully started paying more attention to their children by 1984.

Jeff's friend Sam Neumann joins The GenX Show to talk about restaurants, videos, Youtube and the best/favorite alcohol and steakhouses in the Denver metro area.

Sam Neumann is a real estate agent and youtuber who specializes in Denver. However he is more than that as he explores the best of what Denver has to offer and goes in depth on restaurants, neighborhoods and what makes them unique.

American of 1980 was NOT the America of 1981-82. Pre AIDS. Pre Reagan America. 

William Friedkin's Cruising is a snapshot, believe it or not, of 1980. Before the fall. A surreal police procedural and pseudo American Giallo about a serial killer in the gay leather community sparked condemnation and outrage during the production. It has been reappraised since but what makes that movie so off puttingly effective? 

Jeff talks about that, his own experience with the movie, and how we need to see these snapshots as a gay community in order to understand how we got from there to here.

It's spooky month on the GenX Show. It's not like we need an excuse to talk about horror films but why not, right? In that spirit Jeff takes on the 2008 Canadian Zombie/Virus film Pontypool. A movie about the loss of self, the loss of communication and the loss of purpose cloaked in the blood of virus. Special shout out to Stephen McHattie for putting on a great performance as Grant Mazzy in this film. He carries this big time.

Magnus returns to the GenX Show to review the Smashing Pumpkins brand new album Aghori Mhori Mei. A true heavy rock rifftastic pleasure that was a much needed step in the right direction after the synth laden Atum and Cyr. Did it live up to expectation? Jeff and Magnus discuss.

In the second half Jeff and Magnus talk about the history of the Pumpkins post first breakup in 2000. Up and down albums with some great and some pretentious touring. Does the new album show a new way for the band?
