It's gothic horror this week as Jason and Lisa discuss the Kate Hudson spooky film "The Skeleton Key" and the real creepy "The Others" starring Nicole Kidman.
This week, Jason and Lisa take on the subgenre of Spanish horror with two classics in the genre! The two hosts disagree on one film and possibly agree on the other. Which ones? You'll have to listen and find out.
Jason and Lisa are back (again) with the sub genre of anthology films! Jason's pick is the 1986 Stephen King film Cat's Eye featuring Drew Barrymore, James Woods, and Robert Hays. Lisa's pick is a 2022 somewhat Shudder original featuring Pedro from "Napoleon Dynamite" and Jonah Ray.
To quote Gavin Rossdale "It's the little things that kill!" as Jason and Lisa tackle Little Monsters in this episode! First up is the 80's cheese classic "Critters" featuring furry creatures from outer space destroying a small town. Then it's the very strange "Ghoulies" featuring black magic, dark glasses, and little people.
This weeks sub-genre is folk horror and Jason presents to Lisa the "classic" Vincent Price film "Witchfinder General", while Lisa presents the 2018 version of "Suspiria". Many opinions are expressed in this episode.
This weeks sub-genre is comedic horror, so Lisa's gift is the 1998 movie "Bride of Chucky" and Jason's gift is the 2010 film "Tucker & Dale vs Evil". What does Lisa, a comedic horror hater, think of her gift? Let's find out!
For the subgenre of "Cursed Objects", Lisa's gift is the 1992 Guillermo Del Toro film "Cronos" about a man who finds a device to live forever. Jason's gift, however, is the 2017 "so bad it's stupid" film "Wish Upon" about a teen girl who finds a magical wish box and wishes things for herself but AT WHAT COST?!? AT WHAT COST!
Jason's gift to Lisa is the 2023 Eli Roth film "Thanksgiving" and Lisa's gift to Jason is the 2019 film "I Trapped The Devil" as they tackle the subgenre of Holiday Horror.
Jason Soto and Lisa Leaheey hosted a show called Between the Scares, covering Blumhouse Production films. But Jason got sick of the non-horror films that kept coming up. So now Jason and Lisa introduce The Gift of Horror! Everything will be explained in this intro episode. Enjoy!
