PPPP 2; V. The Process of Healing
When two or more are gathered for the purpose of Healing, God's Presence and Help is invoked. It is guaranteed to show up. All healing is a process of forgiveness. And the unforgiveness in us is at the root of all sickness. Helping another to overcome the unforgiveness in themselves also gets us out of unforgiveness. All is healing when we meet our brothers in the purpose of healing and forgiveness.
III. The Role of the Psychotherapist
IV. The Process of Illness
The Psychotherapist is a teacher. Yet, the Teacher, the One who has transcended judgment altogether, and arisen into the totality of the egoless state of being, is needed as a Guide in the process. Otherwise, "sickness" is seen as a "reality," and the the illusion of sickness, made up of false "self-concepts" of victimhood and attack, is not undone.
PPPP #2; II. The Place of Religion in Psychotherapy
The main element of Psychotherapy is forgiveness. The "belief in God" is not necessary. The therapeutic quality of any relationship depends on the giving up the justification for anger and attack and the embracing of inner correction of the upset casing the upset. Forgiveness is essential. "Formal Religion" is not only unnecessary, but also a "block" to the truth of real healing.
PPPP #2; Intro & I. The Limits on Psychotherapy
The relationship between the Patient and the Psychotherapist is described here. The dismantling of the Self-Concept that made up suffering is essential. Healing depends on this. Fear, Guilt, and Anger are bulwarks of this Self-Concept. We are all clinging to the "self we made" ACIM calls the ego, and in this clinging is great suffering. The purpose and process of Psychotherapy, in the true sense, is to be free of this false self we all made up.
Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process, Practice
This Supplement for A Course in Miracles was scribed by Dr. Schucman in 1977, after the dictation of A Course in Miracles. It established the mind as the proper focus for the healing of all disease. It also establishes the Holy Spirit, or the Teacher, as the main healer, or "therapist," Who can also help the patient sort out his mind and make the inner connection with his Source, or with God. Ultimately this is the healing that has to take place.
#6 HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the Life force that pulses through the Christ. It "bridges" between the world of "perception" within a world of form and the Divine Reality of Knowledge that is Spirit, which Itself is formless. Love is the domain of Knowledge, which imbues all living things with the Energy to BE. We can connect with the Holy Spirit in order to prepare ourselves to correct our perception by looking upon a "forgiven world, so we may receive the final step of God into Knowledge.
COT #5 JESUS - CHRIST
There is the Man and the Christ. When the man Jesus rose to meet the Christ in himself, he had something of unity to give to his brothers and sisters. We are as God Created us in the Heaven of Creation, but we have forgotten where our reality is. The Christ awakens us to be our true Self. He can do this because He has risen to it in Himself. The Christ is in us already. We merely need to let go of all that is not The Christ for Him to become visible to us.
PERCEPTION - KNOWLEDGE
In this physical dimension we have perception. And to be with the Absolute nature of Love, we have to cleanse our perception of the conflicts and grievances we hold in our mind. The MIND of GOD, the realm of Knowledge, does not have these conflicts. But in our world of perception, we do. To prepare ourselves to step into Knowledge, approaching the Altar of Truth is necessary, and bringing all impurities in ourselves to be laid at the feet of this holy altar within ourselves, to be forgiven and cleansed. This acceptance of the Atonement is our only job to do here.
What do we perceive? —A world of changing forms of opposing factions and thoughts, and even feelings within ourselves? The Face of Christ presents no changing forms. Its content is one, and that is the Peace, Joy, and Innocence of a Forgiven World. It is a Happy Dream in a world of sorrow. It is an orderly perception in a conglomerate of chaos. Forgiveness is the means of having a vision of Christ's Face. Do we want it? If we truly do, it is there for us to embrace.
We overlook the limitations of the ego's thought system, and go for the clarification of the miracles. Trust will correct all errors in our mind when we are willing to let go of our "thinking we know." The invocation of the Atonement, the forgiveness of all our errors, wipes away our memories of misperceptions that kept us in Hell. We enter into the Heaven of the Peace of God. We go directly there, and the shadows of the past, the ego's conundrums, merely fade away and disappear. When we "turn on the light," the "darkness" disappears.
