David Vaucher, a Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Houston, specializes in data analysis and project management. In particular, Mr. Vaucher’s insights on costs in the oil & gas industry and operations to support shale oil & gas development in North America have been sought out and published by global news organizations such as Thomson Reuters, The Wall Street Journal (Latin America), the Financial Times and The Economist, and local ones such as the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express News. He began his oil & gas career as a field engineer at Schlumberger based in Texas, focusing on cementing and well construction operations, and then worked for TAM International (a maker of specialty completion tools) as a Technical Advisor supporting the company’s global field operations. Mr. Williams combines renewable technology and finance with a passion for transformative energy markets. Mr. Williams currently serves as Solar Guru for USAID’s Caribbean Clean Energy Program, Senior Fellow for UC Berkeley’s Renewable Appropriate Energy Laboratory, and Chief Executive Officer of dissigno. Mr. Williams has particular concentration in technology, finance, and enterprise development in mature and emerging markets.  
He has found, led, and divested solar development businesses around the world.  Previously, he was a Senior Fellow with the US State Department’s Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas where he advised government and private developers in Latin America on transitioning to generation from renewable energy and developing finance options. Mr. Williams was selected as one of Time Magazine's Innovators of the Year for work on refrigeration in emerging tropical markets.
Mr. Williams has leveraged technical expertise to attract financing and set the landscape for adoption of renewables. He has been a technical solar advisor for US Department of State, merit reviewer for the US Department of Energy's SunShot program, technical reviewer for Sandia National Laboratory, solar advisor for USAID's Private Finance Advisory Network for Asia, and contributor to National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Previously, he oversaw technology, risk and development investment strategies for a US development fund as Chief Risk Officer. He was Chief Technical Officer for a Central European solar development. As VP of Risk & Asset Management, his team constructed and operated over 50 solar parks in a wide range of technologies. Mr. Williams has been involved in developing renewable energy projects in the Caribbean, Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa. He serves on several boards with an emphasis on energy access in off-grid markets around the world.

Ellen R. Wald, Ph.D., is a consultant on geopolitics and the global energy industry and a non-resident scholar at the Arabia Foundation, a D.C. based think tank. She is the author of the upcoming book, Saudi, Inc., which presents the history of Saudi Arabia through the central figure of its oil company, Aramco.  It will be released in 2018 (Pegasus Books) as Saudi Aramco prepares to launch its much-anticipated IPO.  A frequent commentator on oil pricing, energy policy, alternative energies, OPEC, and political economy, Dr. Wald writes weekly columns for investing.com and Forbes.  She is an adjunct professor of Middle East history and policy; has lectured and spoken across the U.S., U.K., and Middle East; and appeared on TV and radio on three continents.  She earned her Ph.D. with a focus on business history and international relations at Boston University and an A.B. in history from Princeton University.

Ben Heard is recognised as a leading voice for the use of nuclear technologies to address our most pressing global challenges.
It certainly didn’t start that way.
Back in the day he was a member of environmental NGOs and shared their basic objection to nuclear technologies. Being serious about the environmentalism stuff, he undertook a Masters in Corporate Sustainability at Monash University, beginning in 2004. He was one of the inaugural graduands of Future Environmental Leaders (now the Centre for Sustainability Leadership). His work threw him into the deep end of sustainability, with stakeholder consultation for issues like native and plantation forestry industries, legacy toxic waste sites and transport infrastructure. He discovered that nothing was simple, everything involved trade-offs, all risks are relative and if you try to do your job well almost no-one will like you very much but hopefully most will respect you.
He started working in major projects in climate change adaptation (managing the risks from the change) and mitigation (slowing the change down). This led to the establishment of his own small consulting firm in South Australia. Around about then, the apparent futility of work was getting him down…the projects were great but there was just no solution on offer to match the scale of the problems at hand. So instead of continuing his objection to nuclear technology he shut his damn mouth about it for a couple of years and did some learning. The result was a presentation entitled Nuclear Power: From Opponent to Proponent, delivered in 2011 to the South Australian Technology Industry Association. That was the start of pathway of writing, presenting, advocating and ever more learning about how we can reinvent the future using all our knowledge and ingenuity. Through his blog, Decarbonise SA, Ben tracked this journey and helped to build a growing international community.
Ben is undertaking doctoral studies at the University of Adelaide, where he examines clean energy supply with a focus on nuclear technologies. His first published paper won the 2016 Publication Medal from the Royal Society of South Australia and he has presented his research findings at conferences around Australia and the world. Founding Bright New World takes Ben back to his NGO beginnings, using what has learned to give environmentalism and sustainability a reboot for the 21st century.

Ureena received her PhD in Electrical Engineering, Asset Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Urenna is an electrical engineer with Corning Incorporated here in the States. Having grown up in Nigeria and being witness to the lack of electricity in her country. Urenna developed a strong passion to bring electricity to Africa and contribute in anyway possible. She is volunteering on the conference board for PES Power Africa in June for her second time as well as having founded EmpowerDISS in 2013, a program with connections to local high schools in Nigeria working to help more students make the transition into college and beyond through mentorship and working with alumni programs, and will continue to fight to bring the percentage down as fast as possible.
