As our culture becomes increasingly resistant to Christian values, it may be the very catalyst needed to turn the Church back to Isaiah’s mandate to be a “house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7). Story after story of corporate prayer and worship interventions have led to historic changes for nations. Frequently, such work is done in small seemingly insignificant groups that are relentless in prayer. Practical steps to develop a contending community of prayer discussed are as follows: 

1. Develop a personal lifestyle of prayer

2. Secure your vision

3. Build relationships

4. Commit to meet

5. Honor authority

6. Build team leadership

The lessons from the seven churches are framed around two directives:

1)  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Church  Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22

2) He who overcomes:  Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21

The lessons have four applications

1) Seven churches that existed at the time of Revelation

2) Seven churches which can exist at any time in history

3) Seven types of churches which will exist in the Last Days

4) Seven types of individual believers.

The framework of these chapters form a backbone of lessons and promises to learn from and apply to our individual and corporate lives.

This session covers the present-day challenges to corporate prayer both from within the church, and outside the church.  

Session reviewed the Christian history of Tonga and the present drug infiltration, and upcoming elections.
