There are so many new books. New series. Continuing series. I'm so excited to see all these new books coming out. My bank account isn't so happy. My bookshelf may need a companion to help bear the weight of a book haul. I fail to see the issue with getting another bookshelf, but oh well.

2021 has been like 2020 Jr. Not nearly as bad but still enough to make you mumble, "WTF?" twenty times a day. I know I'm supposed to be an adult and watch the news and stay up on current events but when you have anxiety and depression, that's just adding kerosene to the campfire.

I swear the year end slide starts around July fifth, Even worse, the leaves are already changing and dropping here. It's still in the nineties. This is a very short list. It has one book on it. But it is a book I've been waiting to come out for years. Being the witchy chick that I am, it should come as no surprise that I am eagerly waiting for the sequel to Practical Magic to come out.

Even though I use books as a form of socially acceptable escapism, I still like a little reality in my stories.

That means I like seeing characters that reflect the world around me. That means non Caucasian, all body types, differing genders and sexuality.

I'm also prone to reading horror, fantasy, and paranormal romance. You would think it would be easy to find diversity in those. Right?
