2 Corinthians 7

Paul writes to the Corinthians a message "to make room in their hearts" to hear his corrections. He regrets causing them pain but it produced Godly sorrow that lead them to repentance. Even in their resistance he lovingly reaffirms his faith in them to follow him to abundant life, to die together and live together.
