On this episode, join Garrett and Lauren as they traverse the jaw-dropping fifth episode of The Golden Girls (for which Bea Arthur was nominated for her Emmy for this season), “The Triangle” - When Sophia falls under the weather, Dorothy hits it off with her new doctor, Elliot Clayton, who’s new to Miami (and, as we soon fine out, single!!!) and offers to show him around the town. Then, after they’ve been dating for a week, he puts the moves on Blanche! After Rose painstakingly convinces Blanche to tell Dorothy the truth about what happened, Dorothy refuses to believe her and brushes her accusations off as mere jealousy. Blanche, offended that her best friend would think such a thing, makes the difficult decision to evict Dorothy! A flabbergasted Rose decides that her only hope to save their friendship is to seduce Elliot herself to prove to Dorothy that he really is as low as Blanche proclaims. Only once Dorothy overhears Elliot himself confessing to his crime does she realize what a fool she’s been. Luckily, Blanche is quick to accept her apology and all is well. Meanwhile, Sophia laments about what her life could’ve been if hadn’t been for her childhood friend-turned-rival, Mama Celeste.
This week on The Golden Squirrels, Lauren opens the show by drilling Garrett with twenty not-so-simple trivia questions (bonus points if you keep score!) before diving in to the fourth episode of The Golden Girls, “Transplant” - Blanche’s sister, Virginia, comes to visit, but there’s a catch…Virginia is dying and needs a kidney from Blanche to live! Meanwhile, Dorothy, Rose, and Sophia attempt to babysit their neighbors’ son, Danny, without hovering too much. But the question on everyone’s mind is - What will Blanche decide to do? Find out on this episode of The Golden Squirrels!
Join Garrett and Lauren (and special guest, Greg!) as they figure out how to (and how not to) use their brand new microphones! In this episode, we discuss the writers and directors behind The Girls we know and love, as well as the ins and outs of the third episode of The Golden Girls, “Rose The Prude” - Rose has trouble with the idea of seeing (wink, wink) another man after the death of her husband, Charlie…15 years ago?! Blanche and Dorothy convince her to take a chance on her new beau, Arnie, and join him on a cruise to the Bahamas! Meanwhile, Dorothy attempts to end Sophia’s 30-year winning streak in Gin Rummy. Will Rose be able to overcome her guilt and “be” with Arnie? Will Dorothy be able to defeat Sophia (and her impending gambling addiction)? Find out on this episode of The Golden Squirrels!
