In this episode of The Golden Thread, Harmonia remembers Tahirih (1814-1852), the Persian poet, theologian, and revolutionary who defied her world with words and unveiled her face at the Conference of Badasht. At the very same time, across the ocean in Seneca Falls, women gathered to declare their equality-two awakenings echoing across continents. Tahirih's courage, her poetry, and her final words-"You can kill me as soon as you like, but you cannot stop the emancipation of women"-still burn with power today. Her story calls us to consider what veils we carry, and what truths we are ready to bring into the light. As this episode closes, Harmonia looks ahead to Hypatia of Alexandria, a philosopher whose devotion to wisdom would also meet the rage of her age.
