What would you do if you met your soul mate, but you were already married? In The Good Enough Husband, Sylvie Fox delivers a riveting story about a woman who refuses to let her past define her future. For years, Hannah Morrison Keesling's marriage to Michael was good enough. Then she wakes up one morning and it isn't. Taking her puppy Cody along, Hannah drives north to put distance between herself and her past. Planning to go as far as her SUV will take her, she has to stop on the Lost Coast when her dog gets sick. There she meets small town veterinarian Ben Cooper. Ben is the man Hannah wishes she had met first. He's perfect for her, but gun shy because he's been lied to before and vows not to be betrayed again. Hannah leaves Michael and moves to Ben's rural town to pursue a future with the man she knows is her soul mate. But Michael won't let go so easily. Forced to make a decision between the man she chose and the man she loves, Hannah soon realizes that her choices will define everyone else's consequences.

Great story with not so great narration
Although I enjoyed the story itself, I found it extremely hard to listen to this narrator and would love to re listen with a change in narration. The characters are interesting and the fact the she just decided to find herself be happy after her first marriage is brave and I applaud her. I just felt like the narrator didn't bring anything to the table for me. After Marrying a man who was good enough but in reality wasn't Hannah finds herself leaving town and searching for something more fulfilling. I wanted to love this story but I think I'll try the ebook next time.
The Dilemma of Complacency & Morality & True Love
Hannah is married to Michael, they have been together for years and both envision a life with a suburban home, and a few children. However, they were not having any success in the baby department and Hannah felt like she was only good enough to serve as an incubator for a child. Hannah and Michael have tried and completed all the fertility methods and all of the fertility testing. The news is never good.
The same day that Hannah has decided she was unhappy with their home. She doesn't love her husband and does not want to live the rest of her life as she had been living the past 14 years. She decides to get away for a few weeks but as she is packing her car, Michael reveals the final blow, he is sterile. It would take a miracle for them to become pregnant.
Hannah knows the timing is bad and Michael will assume that she is leaving because they can't have kids, but that is not really on her mind for once. She packs up her dog and clothes for a couple of weeks and drives north . Cody, her puppy, gets carsick and she does not want to keep driving while he is miserable so she looks for the next town that has a veterinarian.
Ben is the veterinarian in a very small town that was closest to Hannah's location. As soon as she sees him, sparks crackle and the sexual tension is overwhelming. Hannah wonders what just happened?
Ben's parents happen to have a house that they rent out in the area, so she decides to stay there.
From there we take an incredible journey. There are moral dilemmas, personal issues and one tiny thing Hannah forgets or doesn't share That she is married.
This is an incredible book and the more I listened, the better it got.
