How do you test a bloodstain remover when you're still at school? You keep pig's blood in the teachers' fridge.Jozef Domonkoš, Dominika and Matej are three of the student founders of Aima, from a grammar school in Košice, Slovakia. The idea came up on a train ride as a joke. Their classmates said it wouldn't work. Three months of testing in the school lab later, every day after class, they had a formula that removes bloodstains from clothing in about 30 seconds. In this episode they share:• How they went from 10–15 candidate substances to one working product• Why they named the brand before they had a prototype ("Aima" is Greek for blood)• Building a brand on soft colours that signal safety, not stress• Bottling and labelling a few hundred units in school after lessons, then moving into their own lab space• Placing third among Europe's student companies and taking part in Samsung Solve for TomorrowTwo years in: over €17,000 in turnover, a 90% gross margin and sales in six countries, while they head off to university in different countries.Their message to the next generation: don't be afraid to dream, and take more risks. What's stopping you from testing your idea?#TheGoodIdeasClub #Innovation #StudentEntrepreneurs #YoungFounders #Startups #ProductDevelopment #Entrepreneurship #JuniorAchievement #SolveForTomorrow #Slovakia #Branding #grassrootsinnovation The Good Ideas Club Podcastwww.inso.ggwww.aimasf.skMusic: "GOOFY" by Beast Inside Beats, Bargholz.Chapters:00:00 Intro01:10 Meet the Aima team02:48 An idea born on a train04:57 Three months in the school lab08:40 Pig's blood in the teachers' fridge10:13 The name, the brand and the colours13:52 Bottling, labelling and their own lab15:57 Sales channels and markets17:43 Growing the business through university20:38 Junior Achievement and Samsung Solve for Tomorrow22:52 The most fun and the hardest moments26:29 Customer stories27:41 How it works30:26 The one-minute pitch34:06 Buyout and investor interest37:03 Advice to their younger selves

What makes a great CEO - and does the answer change depending on the stage of the business? In this episode of The Good Ideas Club, Dan Wood and Alex Bezuidenhout explore the evolving nature of leadership with Cristina Muntean, former business journalist, CEO communications adviser and founder of VORNICA.Cristina explains why CEOs are judged by three different audiences: shareholders who expect results, employees who need humanity and empathy, and external stakeholders who look for vision and influence. The leaders who succeed are not necessarily the ones who try to please everyone. Instead, they develop what Cristina calls an “iron spine” — a clear sense of purpose, values and identity that allows them to adapt without losing themselves. The conversation also explores:• Why different stages of a business require different types of CEO.• The dangers of hiring an “accidental CEO”.• How transformation differs from ordinary organisational change.• Why many companies suffer from a lack of imagination.• How AI is forcing businesses to rethink where future value will come from.• Why succession planning is really a form of business resilience.• How boards can better support CEOs and prevent burnout.• Whether co-CEO models could become more common.• Why leaders should build visibility for trust, not celebrity.• How companies can create practical CEO-readiness programmes for future leaders.A wide-ranging conversation about leadership, organisational resilience and the uncomfortable question every CEO should be asking:What will our business need from its leaders three, five or ten years from now?#TheGoodIdeasClub #TGIC #Podcast #INSO #CEO #leadership #successionplanning #business #entrepreneur The Good Ideas Club Podcastwww.inso.ggMusic: “GOOFY” by Beast Inside Beats, Bargholz.

In S2E3 of The Good Ideas Club, Tim Leake of Let's Lightbulb unpacks his “five facets of FAST” framework - 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 - and explains how teams can make speed their unfair advantage without descending into chaos. We explore the paradox at the heart of modern work: sometimes you have to slow down to map the route, so you can move much faster in the right direction.
