Here are my memories of the book "Where The Red Fern Grows" by author Wilson Rawls along with the 1974 film adaptation.  I also share some details around what has happened with the star of that film, Stewart Petersen.

It really seemed like Miss Peggy as portrayed by actress Joanna Moore might be the one for Sheriff Andy Taylor.  And yet, after four measly episodes, she disappeared without further mention.  Here is my thinking around the character's sudden departure from the program.
