For my morning devotional, I spent time in Jesus Calling by Sarah Young for September 14, which covered Genesis 2:7, Psalm 89:15, and Romans 12:1-2. I also read Proverbs 14:

In Genesis 2:7 it says

Genesis 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being.”

Psalm 89:15 “Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.”

Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve that God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

In my second devotional activity I read Proverbs 14. Proverbs is in the Old Testament after Psalms. It has 31 chapters so you could ready a chapter everyday of the month! For the months with 28 days you can read more! Proverbs has a lot of wisdom My favorite today

Proverbs 14: “Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.”

On the radio side, I played a quick game at the house to make 10 contacts—acting as my own home “POTA activation” for the morning! It wasn’t really an activation but I set a goal of making 10 contacts as I would do at a park at a minimum. This helps the activators that are all doing what I like to do at the parks around here.

I was watching a segment on a morning news show, and they were talking about an upcoming program about a woman who survived the 9/11 attack. Before the woman granted the interview, the actor portraying her asked if she was a person of faith. I thought I would talk about faith on this episode.

What can we pray for John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Henry is a full-time missionary with Chosen People Ministries. He was raised in Bellflower, California in a believing household. He came to faith, putting his trust in Yeshua (Jesus) as his Messiah, at the age of twelve. In 2017, Henry went on a two-week trip to Israel where he felt a call to Jewish ministry, feeling a deep desire at the Western Wall to bring the gospel to his people.

Henry has a Bachelor's degree in Jewish Studies from the Moody Bible Institute, studying under Dr. Michael Rydelnik. After graduating, he joined Chosen People Ministries and has now moved to New York where he ministers to Jewish students in the Manhattan and the broader New York area. Henry has also served at Camp Kesher, Chosen People Ministries children's camp on both the west and east coasts. His main work is with young adults and teen ministry in the New York and Los Angeles areas. Henry is currently enrolled at the Charles Feinberg Center in Brooklyn studying for his Master of Divinity in Messianic Jewish Studies.

Philippians 4

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things arejust, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

God Hears Our Groans

Theme: When we run out of words, God does not run out of grace. Our groans are not signs of defeat, but the catalyst for God’s deliverance.

Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 12:7, Romans 8:22–26, Exodus 2:24, Acts 7:33–34 (NIV)

• The Hook: We love to talk about the Holy Spirit’s power in terms of activity and strength. We read 1 Corinthians 12:7 and get excited about the gifts: messages of wisdom, knowledge, great faith, and gifts of healing. These are the gifts we use when we are active, serving, and feeling strong.

• The Tension: But what happens when the crisis hits and you have absolutely nothing left? What happens when you sit down to pray, but your heart is so heavy, fractured, or exhausted that you don’t even know what to ask for?

• The Truth: We think our silence or our lack of words means we are failing spiritually. But Scripture reveals that God has a deep, ancient habit of listening to the things we cannot say.

“We know that the whole creation has been groaning... Not only so, but we ourselves... groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship...” (Romans 8:22-23)

• A Broken World: Paul reminds us that we live in a world that is fundamentally fractured. Creation itself "groans" under the weight of decay and frustration.

• A Burdened Heart: As believers, we are not immune to this. Even though we have the "firstfruits of the Spirit," we groan inwardly. We feel the tension of living in the "already but not yet"—saved by grace, but still experiencing pain, sickness, and grief.

• The Normalcy of Pain: If you are groaning today under the weight of life, you are in good company. It is the honest response of a believer waiting for God to make all things new.

“God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant...” (Exodus 2:24)

“I have indeed seen the oppression of my people... I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.” (Acts 7:34)

• Not a New Concept: When Paul talks about groaning in Romans, he is drawing on the deepest roots of Israel’s history.

• No Eloquent Prayers Required: In Egypt, the Israelites weren't handing God beautifully written, polished prayers. They were slaves. They were exhausted. They simply groaned under the whip.

• The Divine Response: What did those raw, wordless groans do?

• They caught God’s ear.

• They moved Him to remember His promise.

• They caused Him to descend in the burning bush to commission Moses.

• The Lesson: God does not ignore your wordless pain. Throughout history, the groan of His people has always been the catalyst for His rescue.

“We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” (Romans 8:26)

• The Ultimate Comfort: This is where our weakness meets God’s ultimate grace. When we don't know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit does not stand back and wait for us to figure it out.

• The Divine Intercessor: The Holy Spirit steps in and groans on our behalf. He takes our sigh of exhaustion, our tear of grief, our confused silence, and He translates them into the perfect, flawless will of God.

• Active vs. Passive Grace: In 1 Corinthians 12, the Spirit gives us gifts to speak and do. But in Romans 8, when we cannot do anything, the Spirit prays for us.

• The Takeaway: You don't have to be strong to be heard. You don't have to have it all together to connect with the Almighty.

• The Challenge: The next time you find yourself overwhelmed, don't force the words. Don't feel guilty for your silence. Just sit in His presence. Let your heavy sigh be your prayer, and trust that the God who heard the groans of Israel in Egypt is the same God whose Spirit is translating your wordless groans today.

Some people have dramatic changes in their life after they were saved. I did too. I wanted to learn everything I could about my new found freedom.

While study scripture I ran across this statement  Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Spirit of God

I didn’t understand that so I went to the Dictionary-Concordance in the bible and looked up grieve to cause someone pain or sorrow

It also referred to Eph 4:30

I pulled out my ESV Study Bible and looked at Eph 4:30 The footnote referred to 1 Thes 2:12 I looked at my NIV bible and the cross reference referred me to Eph 4:1

This is the verse that I feel answered my question what does it mean And do not grieve the Spirit of God

In reviewing my 1975 Yearbook from B.T Washington High School I found a classmate’s comments very spiritual. She said Smile Jesus loves you! I remember at the time she was crazy. It turns out I was the crazy one. We were the first graduating class of the newly built high school and i accepted Jesus as my savior in 1978. Thank you Debbie!
