In Hebrews 7:14, the scripture says, "It is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood."

Hebrews teaches us very clearly that Jesus is the ultimate priest because He is of the order of Melchizedek.

Welcome to our study of the book of Hebrews, in which Hebrews exalts the majesty and the power of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As always, we want to encourage you to locate your Bible, have it ready as we're going to be looking to the word of God today in our study of the book of Hebrews.

In this lesson, we're thinking about Hebrews chapter five and Hebrews chapter seven. In our last lesson on Hebrews six, we noticed the writer encouraging these Christians, some who'd been members of the Lord's church for many years to not grow stagnant but rather to go on to perfection and keep progressing in their Christian faith.

Now the argument for the greatness of Christ over the Levitical priesthood began in Hebrews chapter five, where he begins to talk about Christ and the lineage of the Levites and how He's so much greater than that priesthood because He's of the order of Melchizedek. He realized as part of the way through that, that these Christians aren't ready for that. They've grown stagnant and they're not ready to go into the meat of the
word. And so, he stops to challenge them right in the midst of that argument.

"This man, after he'd offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of the throne of God," Hebrews 10:12.

Welcome to our study of the book of Hebrews. We want to encourage you to find your Bible and have it handy as we're going to be studying the word of God today on this wonderful subject of the majesty and supremacy of Christ and his covenant.

Hebrews chapters one through seven, the whole point is the supremacy of Christ, and the writer clearly showed that. Hebrews eight through 10, the point is the supremacy of Christ's covenant. The writer is going to show very clearly that that covenant contains the greatest sacrifice ever, and it's the covenant that we're living under today.

‘God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,’ Hebrews 1:1-2.

Welcome to the wonderful study of the Book of Hebrews. The superiority of Christ is on display throughout the Book of Hebrews and we're so glad that you've joined us for this study. As we're studying the Book of Hebrews, Hebrews Chapter one and two especially, the Hebrew writer is going to encourage these Christians who have many of them have left the Hebrew or Jewish religion that Christ is greater than and that especially Christ is greater than angels. It begins in Hebrews 1:1-2 by showing that even in the delivery of God's law to us today, it's greater. Think about these words. Hebrews 1. I want you to notice verses 1 and 2. The Bible says this. "God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by His Son." It goes on to show that who through Him made the world through His image of brightness of His glory, the express image of His person who seated the right hand of God, and who has become so much better than angels as He has by name, son of God, made greater than they. The emphasis is going to show the greatness of Christ.

"For every house is built by someone, but he who built all things is God,” Hebrews 3:4.

Welcome you to our study of the wonderful book of Hebrews. I want to encourage you if you haven't got your Bible handy to locate that, as we're going to study together in the Word of God today.

Today we're continuing our study in the book of Hebrews. This is such a powerful message about the superiority of Christ and Christianity. We're right in the heart of talking about the superiority of Christ over various Old Testament figures and individuals that some of these Hebrew Christians may be holding up in very high esteem. In chapter three especially, we're going to deal with the idea of Christ being greater than Moses and really, there are two very clear divisions in chapter three.

The Scripture says as it relates to the Christian life, ‘let us lay aside every weight and the sin that does so easily ensnare us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.’

Welcome you today to our final lesson in the wonderful Book of Hebrews. This book has exalted the majesty and the supremacy of Christ. In these final two chapters, chapters 12 and 13, the writer will encourage Christians to, by their faith, never give up running the Christian race. It is the best life you could ever live.

"Beware brethren lest there be any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God, but exhort or encourage one another, while it is called today lest we be hardened, through the deceitfulness of sin."

The Hebrew writer in Hebrews 3:12-13, encourages fellow Christians with a Hebrew background to not give up on Christ and go back to the old way of life. As we think today about the book of Hebrews that encouragement is so powerful for every child of God, who has come out of a past life in sin, and all of us have, Romans 3:23. We must not go back and give up on Christ. Keep pressing forward go toward the prize, is the powerful message of the book of Hebrews. What is Hebrews all about? You must understand a little bit of the background, of what's going on to see the bigger picture, of the book of Hebrews.

The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:15, "I'll sing with the spirit, and I'll sing with the understanding. I'll pray with the spirit, and I'll pray with the understanding," 1 Corinthians 14:15.

We welcome you today to our study of worshiping God through our singing. What a great subject the idea of worship is. We have the privilege to bring God the honor and glory with our voices by the singing that we do, and we can uplift and laud and magnify the beauty of our God.
As we think about the subject of singing and the music that Christians use in our worship to serve God, this is indeed a very important subject. For as you read the Bible, it's one of the ways Christians, together, corporately worshiped Almighty God. If we're going to worship God correctly today, we need to do it in the way that God has asked us to.

We welcome you today to our study of the subject of worship. Worship is one of great things you find in the Bible, as man has that ability and that privilege to humble himself before his maker and to praise and honor and magnify God for the many wonderful blessings and benefits He's given for His children.
In this series of lessons especially, we're going to focus on items or actions of worship specifically that Christians may do in a corporate worship setting. When we go to worship on Sunday morning or Sunday night or when we gather with a group of Christians, what are some of the things that God has given us the privilege to do in our worship? How do we do those in such a way that it brings God the glory and the honor that he deserves?

The Bible says that ‘the disciples came together on the first day of the week to break bread,’ Acts 20:7.

We welcome you today to our study of worshiping God through the actions of partaking the Lord's Supper, and giving. Today we're thinking about two various aspects of ways that we worship God, and especially as we worship God corporately, together with God's people, and through the action of giving as well, and those ways are through taking the Lord's Supper, and through the action of giving. We're going to focus on what the Bible says on these subjects.
