These two words are married in theological circles. We have liberty or freedom in Christ. Some mistakenly believe because they are free, they can do whatever they want. That type of mentality is called antinomianism. Others understand their Liberty in Christ does come with limits. In other words, they do not frustrate the grace of God and cheapen it.

The classic question of the pessimist.  They insist that God cannot be real because of all the evil that exists. They also are convinced that if God exists He does not have any power or He does not love mankind due to all the evil. How does one answer the critic(s)? Can we as believers provide a ready defense? Will the devil grant them their desires? If someone does that, is there any hope for them - is it an automatic trip to hell for that person?

These are large and rich theological terms, but what do they mean? It is essential that we get clear definitions of both since they appear in the Bible. Paul was a very gifted didactic teacher and although he is dead, his words still speak 2000 years removed. That is a testament to the power of the word of God, it has transported itself through time to talk to us today.

The Bible describes those who are over comers and victorious in this fallen world. In a world that is full of sin in every imaginable way, we need the assurance from the Word of God that despite everything that is going on, what we do is being recorded and monitored by the God who has saved us and equipped to perform good deeds that will glorify His name.
