Last time in our message we were talking about Rebekah. We were looking at the types of the bride in the scriptures. Like I said everything that we believe should have a Biblical backing. If we say that the bride is not the entire church. Do we have a Biblical backing?
And we were looking at types in the bible that show us that the bride is just a portion of the church. It is not the entire church but a portion of the church. And we had come to Rebekah and said some points on Rebekah.
If we can go to Genesis twenty four, just a scripture to remind ourselves.
Genesis 24:28
This eldest servant of Abraham, really worshiped God, because God had led him right, because he had been told that the lady that he was to take for Isaac must be from the family of Abraham and indeed God had led him so, that is why right there he was blessing God. He worshiped God, he thanked God, because God had answered his prayers.
And when Rebekah was asked if she would be willing to be the wife of Isaac, if she will be willing to go and be the wife of Isaac,
She had to make a personal decision without the parents forcing her, without the parents putting pressure on her. Will you go with this man? Are you willing to go and become this man’s wife? From the depths of her heart, her personal decision – not somebody else’s decision, she said she’d go.
We as children of God are brought face to face with the same question that confronted Rebekah.
Are we willing to be part of the work of God. Are we willing to be part of that church that Christ built. Are we willing to go and become the wife of Christ? We are always – there is always that question. Time comes. Are you willing to go an extra mile, are you willing to make an extra sacrifice? When the church is in need are you willing to go an extra mile? Time and again, that question comes to us as children of God in the church.

In our study of End Time Events, we are going to refer to the bride of Christ several times. And I thought it imperative for us to take a short study about the bride of Christ. Many people have different views when it comes to that subject. The body of Christ. Most Christians think that God puts everyone of us on the same level. Once am saved, baptized probably into water, baptized with the holy ghost. When Christ comes, he will take all of us. We are all going. Doesn’t depend how serious with God we were. Or how lazy we were. Or how sinful even though we were saved he will just take all of us.
Now it is not so. As far as the scripture are concerned. I think it is Peter that asked a question to Jesus Christ. Peter said, we have left all and followed thee. We have left our good business; we were good businessmen. Prospering business. And when you called us, we had to leave all that. But as it were what is ahead of us. I just don’t want to leave my good business that was giving me good living. My good business that was helping my family and myself, to live well. I just don’t want to Leave this business come to you, follow you do what you’re telling me to do and then I end up with nothing. Or with something little. So, before he even finished speaking Christ answered.
And he said unto them, before he said what shall we get. He said unto them, Jesus knew what Peter was talking about. What Peter was thinking. He didn’t let him finish what he was saying.
In other words what these scriptures tell us, if I have made more sacrifices than any other person, I am going to receive more. If I have made more commitments, than the rest of my brethren, then I will receive more. We are not going to be put on the same level and therefore there is no way everyone of us will be put together and receive the same reward.
Peter was told if you have left all, you have left your brothers - blood brothers, blood sisters, your relatives; sweet company of your relatives. – you can talk together; you can work together; feel the warmth of your natural brothers and sisters and parents. Now you have left all that to join Christ – to work with Christ. Christ has called you, is there something more than those that are not so committed. Those that are not so devoted. Christ said yes – not only in this life but also in the world to come.
That shows that not everyone of us will be put on the same level.
