When my girls were little, I felt constantly exhausted! I wanted so badly to have energy to keep up with them, but I just felt tired all the time. This led to a lot of depression and frustration for me.

When my girls were almost 3 and 1 years old, I had a crisis moment that changed everything and led to me making some big changes in my life. Those change that I made drastically increased my energy and my hope. I am still practicing these things 10 years later.

While motherhood is still exhausting both physically and emotionally at times, I have found ways to find ENERGY to do motherhood well. Yes, I am exhausted when I fall into bed at night, but I have energy to keep up during the day when it counts.

Bickering is arguing or making a big deal over little things or things that really don't matter. Trust me, I'm in the thick of this parenting struggle with you! This is not a subject that I have mastered, but an area that the Lord is sanctifying me in me as I parent my girls.

Do you or your children struggle with worrying excessively over things? I remember many nights when my girls were newborns where I would stay up all night consumed with worry and anxiety over their wellbeing. I still often get consumed by the anxiety tornado that swirls around in my mind when situations or circumstances feel out of my control.

In Philippians 4:6, we are told to not worry about ANYTHING. How is that even possible? How do we worry well when life is overwhelming?

Today on the podcast we are going to talk about the antidote to anxiety based on what God says in his Word. We will explore Philippians 4:2-7 together, and see how we can learn to worry well and tools to help us or our children work through anxiety.

Our world is filled with so much evil and sadness that it makes me want to run for the hills and hide my kids from having to encounter any of it! However, that's not what we are called to do. I believe parenting takes on different stages as our kids age. We are called to first shield, then protect, and then teach our kids to fight (or discern) the world around them. So how do we do this while protecting their hearts and minds? How do we teach our kids to discern the voice of God from the voice of the world? Join me as we talk about how I have been walking this out practically with my girls in areas such as Halloween, movies, and other areas.

Life can be disappointing especially when God given dreams just aren't coming true. Today on the podcast, I share personally about my lifelong struggle with wondering and fighting to stay present where I have been planted. It can lead to doubt, frustration, and discouragement. However, what if we are missing out on exactly where God has us to make an impact in this season? How can we shift our perspective to be kingdom focused while still keeping our dreams in our heart?

When I was a younger mom, I found myself wondering if the dreams that God had placed in my my heart would ever come true or wondering if maybe God hadn't spoken those things at all. The story in Mark 5 has changed so much on my perspective in why we need to be invested in where God has currently planted our feet. I hope it encourages you too. The places where God has us in our "not yet" moments are more important than we realize. Stay rooted.

The little years of parenting are exhausting and hard. Being in a season of waiting on "what you really want to do" is hard. Being single while longing for marriage is really hard. Working a job that you don't love while waiting for the career you dream of is hard! We all have seasons of life that are easy to wish away because they are hard.

I remember when my girls were 7, 5, 2, and 3 months old. I was in the thick of the "little years", and I was exhausted. I remember fully loving them and the moments, but also longing for the days when they were older and could do more things on their own....and when I could get a full nights sleep! That stage is all of a sudden gone for me, and I have found myself reflecting on how I could have look at hard seasons a little different.

Join me on the podcast this week as we talk about what it means to be wise! I tell my girls all the time that you can be really smart but really unwise. Here's what I want you to soak in...Wisdom is a deep understanding that the world isn’t always right, but God’s ways are. 

There is so much to unpack in this verse!!! We start to gain wisdom by having a fear of the Lord! Our kids are growing up in a culture that lacks Godly wisdom but believes themselves to be smarter than the last generation. It's a problem. This verse is a good start to helping ourselves to lean into God's way to wisdom.
