Is the sin of suicide forgiven? How can I get back to how I experienced God before I backslid? How can I find purpose and direction again? What am I missing?
Is water baptism a command, an option, or what? What does it mean to “look to Jesus”? Between Romans and 1 Corinthians and Matthew, I’m confused about divorce and remarriage. Can you help me sort this out?
What is the sin leading to death? What is the purpose of fasting? If we’re eternally secure, then why does Colossians 1 say to “continue”? My pastor doesn’t want to share his testimony with anyone. What do you think of that?
The parable of the sower makes me wonder if I'm really saved. Might Jesus say to me, "Depart from Me"? What's going on with Simon the Sorcerer in Acts 8? My pastor disagrees with my teaching on Galatians 5. What should I say to him?
Can you shed some light on Jude 1:22-23? My brother is starting a commune of sorts. What are your thoughts on that? I heard a pastor teach the tithing is still required. Is that true? Were the apostles selected to preach the gospel? What is predestination? Who are the elect?
Hebrews 5, Hebrews 6, context, law on Gentile conscience, new commands, believe in love, unconditional love, pets, legalism
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have one book of the Bible with you, a great choice might be… Romans. What an incredible overview of the entire Gospel message!
Here’s the opening message to my new series on Romans called “The GREAT News of the Gospel.” It addresses important questions like: Why did Jesus have to rise from the dead? What is “the obedience of faith”? Is the Gospel for everyone or only the “elect”?
There’s nothing more important than understanding righteousness by faith. It reminds me of the Italian expression il dolce far niente (meaning “the sweetness of doing nothing”). Not sure where I’m going with this? Let Romans help you with the art of doing nothing: “But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness” (Romans 4:5).
Are you doing nothing to get right with God? Nothing to get more forgiven? Nothing to get closer to Him? I sure hope so, and you’ll discover why in this powerful and liberating message.
Discussion Questions for Romans 1:1-17
Can you help me understand why Jesus would have something against a church in Revelation if He keeps no records of our wrongs? If a believer starts to do every evil thing, will they lose their salvation or their reward? How do I enter God’s rest and live by grace?
I’ve been thirsting for spiritual food and I haven’t been finding it. Shouldn’t prophecy be a main focus? I believe God spoke to me and my cat through the television and a floating orb. How do I break free from addiction and experience what God wants for my life?
Do we need a person as a spiritual covering? How do you interpret Revelation 21:8? I’ve been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had hallucinations that I blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Have I lost my salvation?
