Ever seen a circus elephant act like it’s tied up, even though the rope’s been cut? That’s some Christians today: Free in Christ but still living like they’re bound up, needing to perform.
This message from our “Let God” series unpacks a powerful truth—God’s not waiting to be convinced. He’s not holding back until you prove yourself. He’s already in you. Already ready. Already eager.
Religion says, “Clean yourself up, and maybe God will use you.” The Gospel says, “He cleaned you up and moved in—now just let Him.” You don’t need to strive, beg, or earn anything. You just get to let Him be your life.
Stop chasing what you already have, and let Him strengthen you. You’re plugged into His life, so now you can simply flip the switch!
Discussion Questions:Why does it seem like healing and miracles stopped? And what about demons today? How do we know Jesus is the Messiah? My brother isn’t sure about the Trinity. What can I do? What should we do when we sin? Ask God for forgiveness and then forget about it?
Is everyone in the Book of Life originally? If so, when and why are they taken out? My good friend has a six-year-old diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. How can I be an encouragement to her and her husband? I have a religious OCD, and I worry about overindulging in jazz, art, and audiobooks. Is that God warning me? What can I do to get free?
What is repentance? What kind of repentance is needed for salvation? Do we have to give a certain percentage to a church to please God? What will we remember (and forget) when we are in Heaven? Is that how we experience no sorrow? Do we have to confess each sin or ask forgiveness each time to be forgiven by God?
Why did Jesus call the Pharisees spiritually blind? What about people today? Who wrote the epistle of James? What are your thoughts on it? How do we know if we are the good soil described by Jesus? Fruit-bearing is a natural byproduct after salvation, but what actually saves a person?
Why are there so many denominations? How did they get started? Why does the apostle John tell us to not love the world if God loves the world? I feel overwhelming guilt for my past, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried everything! Are some sections of the Bible not of any benefit to us today?
I struggle with obsessive thoughts about my salvation and staying in God’s will. Is this God sending me a message? My 11-year-old went to a camp and was told that he is not saved, because he hasn’t been baptized in water. Can you help him? What is the true meaning of predestination? Can women speak in church and serve in leadership? Or should they be quiet in every church setting?

We’ve all done it—scanning our circumstances like a spiritual weather report. Checking our job, our health, and our bank account to figure out, “Does God still love me? Is He blessing me or holding back?”
But comfort doesn’t come from your circumstances. It comes from Christ in you.
You don’t need to beg for God’s love. You don’t have to earn His forgiveness. And you sure don’t need to perform to be comforted. Your union with Jesus is full and final—no interruptions, no conditions.
So, are you letting Him remind you? Convince you? Comfort you? If you’re still searching outside for what’s already inside, this message is for you!
Discussion Questions:What is the Secret Book of James? Why isn’t it in the Bible? How do we reconcile being immediately with God upon death yet “the dead in Christ will rise first”? Does the Holy Spirit help us keep the Law? What is the difference between the Law and the Ten Commandments?
Did demons have relations with women and create giant babies? What’s the quickest way to get to know the gospel message in the Bible? How am I to interpret all of the violence in this world in light of God’s plan? I’m losing my joy about being generous toward my employees. What should I do?
