How should a Christian approach work?
Whether we're at a job, serving in ministry, caring for our family, or handling everyday responsibilities, Scripture teaches that our work can be an opportunity to serve and glorify God.
In this message, Pastor John Mix draws from the wisdom of Solomon and other passages of Scripture to examine six biblical principles for successful work:
- Work Enthusiastically — Give your best effort and work as unto the Lord.
- Work with Integrity — Value your character and a good name above personal gain.
- Work Skillfully — Keep learning, growing, improving, and developing your abilities.
- Work Efficiently — Use your time wisely and approach your responsibilities strategically.
- Work Cooperatively — Recognize the value of teamwork and the strengths of others.
- Work Persistently — Remain faithful and don't quit simply because results don't come immediately.
Our vocation isn't separate from our Christian life. God has placed us where we are for a purpose, and the way we approach our responsibilities can affect our testimony, provide for our families, allow us to help others, and ultimately honor the Lord.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” — Colossians 3:23
Whatever work God has placed before you, approach it with the right attitude, give it your best, and remember who you are ultimately serving.
