In our first message of our new topic "Giving Hope", Bev uses fresh perspectives on the Biblical story of Esther to link this story of challenge and difficulty to the challenges and crushing difficulties of our sufferings.

In such situations we all need hope. We long for things to come back to “normality “ but it’s often in going through great suffering and threat that we find the courage to become bringers of hope to others.

Comfort, ease and security are incredibly seductive and Bev shows from the life of Esther that our empathy should go out to all people groups.

In our PM Easter Sunday message, Pastor Sam Paul Pilli brings a message where we explore the timeless truths of the Christian faith at Easter using the Bible verse of Luke 24:1-6 as we ponder the question that shook Jesus's disciples to the core.."Why Do you look for the living among the dead"?

Indeed, this question strikes at the heart of what makes the empty tomb so significant. It reminds us that Jesus was not just a historical figure who lived and died like any other. He was, and is, the living Son of God, who conquered death and rose victorious from the grave. The empty tomb is a powerful symbol of this truth, and it continues to inspire and challenge us today.

So join us as we explore this remarkable story and reflect on its meaning for our lives. Let's marvel at the mystery of the empty tomb, and draw strength and hope from the living Savior who it represents.

He is risen - indeed. And on this most important day on anybody’s calendar,  John Crawford points out that “remember me” refers to Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus - who is the only person out of the multiple thousands of people crucified by the Romans who rose from the dead.

Nobody expected “no body” but Jesus grave was empty on that first Easter Sunday morning. 

John shares resurrection stories and invites us to identify with those who met the risen Jesus. 

Let this message of hope sink in - if you are unsure or disbelieve, know that God is not mad with you, God is mad about you and has shown this in Jesus 

Sue brings us a moving message in three parts, spoken from the perspective of those who died on the three Roman crosses on that first “Good Friday”.

Like the mocking thief, we also often think God has let us down as he allowed some sickness or evil. Like the repentant thief we have the opportunity to enter paradise even though we don’t deserve it. Like millions of others who have trusted that Jesus, on the cross, took the punishment for our sin, we can find our true worth in God, experiencing the divine exchange that happened on the cross.

Through repentance we can receive his grace instead of vengeance or justice, divine favour instead of rejection, and real life and love instead of hatred and death.
