Are you a slave or a son? Kanye West says he is no longer a slave but a son of the living God!! Knowing and walking in the sonship of God as an intimate Father is central to our Christian faith. From Romans 8:14-17 Josh speaks powerfully into the cultural and historical background of Roman culture around the process of adoption. Freely chosen and permanently a part of the family and an heir of the father’s estate.

Adoption is an instant work but also a process and Josh shares the workings of this in our daily life.

The story of Joseph found in the book of Genesis is very detailed and contains much of relevance to us. In the story Joseph has two cloaks taken from him, signaling two life-defining moments. Both of these moments could be seen as negative and soul-destroying, but God was working out his own plan through these incidents. Who we determine what we say and do - in both easy times and difficult times.

Kieran encourages us to let God take total control in our lives. Putting our hands up and surrendering to God frees us from anxiety and frees us to become who we were meant to be.

Your ambitions to serve God must be supported by your character. Joe uses the themes of contemporary films to exemplify the complexity of following Christ humbly but bravely. Filled up but not puffed up. Humility, Joe suggests, is the difference between truly and courageously serving Christ, and performing good deeds relying on ourself. What is essential is not judging ourselves by the opinions of others or by our own assessment of our performance, but believing that God has made us righteous by his prior love for us.

We need God.

As our Heavenly Father.....

1. He cares about our physical and material situation. No detail of our lives is too small for his attention and love.

2. He cares about our emotions. Are you lonely? Feeling down? Our Father cares.

3. He is tender and compassionate. God has maternal as well as paternal traits. He cares for us as a mother cares for the child in her womb.

Naomi describes how we can approach this perfect Father with confidence rather than with shame and guilt. This access produces a strong identity, a peace which overcomes anxiety and a trust in a Father God who wants to do miracles in our life. This message will help you call God by the most intimate of his names - Abba (Father).

Asking, seeking and knocking - they can be nullified by fear and pride, but can be activated by leaning into our relationship with our loving Heavenly Father.
