Don't Worry It's Confidential

the grass is always greener

Listen Later

You know what they say: comparison is the thief of joy.

Today’s episode is all about the myriad of emotions that come up when we compare ourselves to others. Whether it’s feeling different or less than, or doubting our choices or even worse, our selves, comparison has only gotten more difficult to avoid since the age of social media began.

My guest is no stranger to asking herself the questions, “Would I be happier if I lived there?”, or, “Would I feel more fulfilled if I had that job?”, or, “If my life looked like that, would all my problems go away?”. In this episode, we chat through the moments that these intrusive thoughts have invaded, and how to best challenge their convincing nature.

At a time when lots of our peers are moving to new cities for jobs or relationships, staying put can sometimes feel like you’re falling behind. We discuss how mindset and prioritizing our gut feelings is more important for deciding how happy we are than our coordinates.

If you feel like everyone in your life seems to have amazing things happening to them and you’re “still figuring things out”, then this episode is for you.

Whether it’s relationships, where you should live, career, or personal development, this episode helps remind us that desire for something different or constant comparisons can really be about looking inward and asking what we need in the moment to cope with stressors.
