Wake up, babe. New episode of The Grave Plot is out!
We’re partying in here with all the Horror Business you can handle. First up is Real World Horror, where science continues to tempt fate as they bring a 400 year old vampire “back to life.” We then take a look at an upcoming remake of a Christmas classic, a twisted love story from the team behind Barbarian, and a zombie movie with some familiar names. On the subject of zombies, we also discuss a new adaptation from a beloved arcade game, plus a new movie that is DEFINITELY NOT A REMAKE.
For our film reviews, we inject ourselves with The Substance and the experience is… unexpected. We also place our bets on the star-studded slasher Stream from the team responsible for the Terrifier films.
So kick down the door and get ready to rock ‘n’ roll with a new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Trick or treat! When you come to our door, it’s always a treat as we conclude this year’s Octoberama with our annual Halloween extravaganza!
We’ve got a whole big bag o’ goodies for you in the form of Horror Business! First up is Real World Horror, where we take a look at some mysterious blobs that are washing up on the shores of our neighbors to the north. We then go on to discuss a new adaptation of a classic horror novel, a return of comedy royalty to a beloved franchise, and a new film from an impractical joker. We also examine a new Stephen King series from Mike Flanagan and a new installment in the Trick ‘r Treat franchise (no, not that).
We’ve also got full sized film reviews with a creamy nougat center. Indulge in our thoughts on the original classic, John Carpenter’s Halloween II as well as the absurd comedy horror from James Roday Rodriguez, Gravy.
Enjoy as much as you like, we promise you won’t sick! Happy Halloween!
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Are we paying the price for our hubris of science? Witness the primeval might that is The Grave Plot Podcast!
Octoberama rolls on with the first ever Week of the Kaiju, as chosen by our Patreon patron Aaron Meyer! This episode is fun sized but the monsters are gigantic as we discuss the OG king of the monsters with the Japanese film Shin Godzilla as well as some more stateside chaos with Cloverfield.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Thank you for choosing The Grave Plot Podcast.
Everyone climb into the family truckster, we’re headed to the north woods for the first ever Week of the Cabin in the Woods!
We kick things off with Real World Horror, about an unidentified floating humanoid figure right in our own backyard. For Horror Business, we discuss a gory video game featuring a sadistic clown (yeah, that one), a return of a hunted bride, and a “remix” of a classic German expressionist film about an undead vampire. We also examine some casting rumors for the latest film from a horror legend as well as a new horror film from a member of the Jersey Shore crew.
We then head to the wilderness for two film reviews all about cabins in the woods. Both of these films take the horror genre and flip it on its head. Up first is the titular film, The Cabin in the Woods, which explains all of your favorite horror tropes. Then there’s Tucker & Dale vs Evil, which asks the question “what if a slasher movie was all just one big misunderstanding?”
So grab your sleeping bag and a six-pack and get ready for an all new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
They won’t stay dead! Octoberama rises from the grave and have come to devour your braaaaaainnnnns.
Get infected by this fun size episode, featuring reviews of zombie movies new and old. Hear our thoughts on the 1988… um… classic? Return of the Living Dead part II, as well as the new film from the makers of Turbo Kid, We Are Zombies.
So grab your earphones and aim for the head or prepare to join the horde with a new undead episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
October – the most ominous and foreboding month.
Every year, an event rises from the pits of Hell to cast its shadow across the land, spreading like a plague, sending an icy chill up the spines of all who fall in its path.
It is known only as…
OCTOBERAMA!!!!!!
That’s right, kiddies—our annual month-long celebration of all things spooky has arrived again! Our weekly event kicks off with Volume 1, Week of the Vampire, where we discuss two films about the blood-sucking, heliophobic creatures of lore: 30 Days of Night and Abigail.
Before that, we sink our teeth into a healthy dose of Horror Business, including Real World Horror about Japanese scientists doing everything they can to bridge the uncanny valley and ensure the doom of the human race. Next, we take a look at a weekend sleepover event taking place at an iconic hotel… that has nothing to do with the hotel’s legacy. Also, we go over the addition of two horror legends to an upcoming game, the likely unnecessary remake of a ’90s thriller, an update on the remake of a classic monster movie, and the unfortunate (but hopefully temporary) demise of a titan of horror.
So, crack open that coffin, crack open a cold one, throw on your finest cape, and join us as we kick off the season with the return of Octoberama!
Get ready for the ride of your life.
We’re back again with a brand new episode, featuring twists and turns to make your head spin. First up is Real World Horror, where we examine a British man who encountered one of the infamous Black Eyed Kids while walking his dog. In Horror Business, we discuss a couple of new releases, namely Nick Frost’s slasher-comedy Get Away, the new sequel/reboot/something-or-other Wolf Creek: Legacy, and The First Exorcist, which is NOT a movie based in The Exorcist universe. We also examine a potential Halloween prequel series and head to Kansas City to kick off the spooky season with a haunt from a famous horror director.
For our film reviews, we first travel to the forests of Ireland to watch and be watched with the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, The Watchers. We then strap on our hard hats and proceed to a Serbian fracking site to dig up Hell Hole.
So please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and hold on tight for a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Do you want us to take our pants off and start the revolution?
Whether it’s the vast emptiness of the great outdoors or the great beyond of outer space, we’re ready to dance off with our pants off in a brand new episode.
Before we head into the void, we must take care of some Horror Business. In Real World Horror, we talk about a ghost from the real-life Conjuring house who just can’t keep his damn mouth shut. We then discuss a new version of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, a film adaptation of a grizzly comic book, and a new film from the maker of WolfCop. We also examine a new Ghostbusters cartoon series and not one but TWO Halloween video games.
For our film reviews, we travel into the unknown with a couple of movies featuring monsters who are more than willing to rip your skin off. We discuss the Wendigo thriller Consumed, starring Devon Sawa, as well as Fede Álvarez’s sci-fi horror Alien: Romulus.
Let’s burn this mother down.
It’s a new day, yes it is. We’re back with more buttery smooth Grave Plot goodness to coat your ear holes.
Let’s get down to brass tacks with some Real World Horror about the “infamous” Mona Bruja, aka the Monkey Witch, who transforms into a rapscallious little creature who terrorizes a neighborhood by… walking on rooftops?
In Horror Business, we discuss a couple new programs coming to your television, namely a new version of “Scare Tactics” and the latest installment in the ever-expanding Dexter universe. We also take a look at a film based on a TV show based on a news article. We also examine a movie based on a video game and its updated cast list, and finally look forward to a slasher sequel.
For our film reviews, we try to stay alive long enough to cash in The Inheritance, and also revisit that silly old homicidal bear in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2.
So grab some hunny and get your head stuck in a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Editor note: There were some audio issues during Horror Business. They are corrected for the reviews. The content is the same Grave Plot quality you’ve come to expect, whatever that entails. Enjoy.
Look at me. Look at this face. I’m a STAR.
Or at least that’s what we tell ourselves. It’s also what the main characters in the films we review today think. Namely, the young lead in a killer clown movie who finds out life imitates art a little too much sometimes in Faceless After Dark. We also discuss the conclusion of Ti West’s X trilogy, featuring the next big thing in Hollyweird, MaXXXine.
Up first, however, is Horror Business. In Real World Horror, we talk about the sex crazed zombie cicadas on speed. You know the ones. Speaking of zombies, we reminisce about killing a whole mall full of them in the video game Dead Rising, and look forward to doing it all over again in a new digital remaster. We also take a look at a new Van Helsing TV series, a Valentine’s Day slasher featuring the star of Idle Hands, and new takes on Bloody Mary and Peter Pan.
So come fly with us, let’s fly, let’s fly away with a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
