Mistaken Identity: Discovering Who You Really Are in Christ
Who have you allowed to define you—your past, your failures, other people, or God?
In this episode of The Great Hope Message, Jack Alan Levine challenges listeners to reject the false identities created by guilt, rejection, addiction, disappointment, and the opinions of others.
The world often defines people by what they have done, what they own, how they look, or what others say about them. We may begin to see ourselves as damaged, unwanted, unworthy, unsuccessful, or permanently trapped by past mistakes. But when a person belongs to Christ, those labels no longer tell the full story.
Jack explains that faith in Jesus gives believers a new identity. Scripture says that anyone in Christ is a new creation. The past may still be part of your testimony, but it does not have to control your future. Through God’s grace, you are forgiven, accepted, loved, chosen, and given a new purpose.
Understanding your identity in Christ also changes how you respond to temptation and discouragement. The enemy wants you to believe that failure is who you are. God reminds you that failure is something you experienced—not your permanent identity.
This episode encourages listeners to stop living according to old labels and begin agreeing with what God says. You are not defined by your worst moment, another person’s rejection, or the shame you have carried. Your true identity is found in the One who created, redeemed, and called you.
