Another challenging invasive species on the Northeast landscape continues to be the hemlock woolly adelgid, which was recently discovered along the shores of Lake Champlain and near the Great Sacandaga Reservoir. Dan welcomes entomologist Mark Whitmore, of Cornell University’s NYS Hemlock Initiative, and Jim Lieberum, of the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District to talk about HWA, its expansion, control methods and what people in the outdoors can do to help identify infestations.
