Welcome to The Greater SA Podcast! This is a "pre-drinks" episode before we kick this baby into full gear.
In this first chat, Abbie and Melissa explain why The 40’s Project has become the Greater SA Podcast, and how the conversations that started around life, chaos and parenting have grown into something bigger.
Same voices, same honest chats, just a different focus as we bring those conversations into the world of Greater SA and the stories shaping country South Australia.
Expect plenty of real talk, a few laughs, the odd rant, and the stories that matter in country communities.

Join us as we overshare our way through some more mid-life chaos. From trying to fight the phenomenon of Vagina Neck, to the poor bloke who broke his arm thanks to his giant peen, nothing’s off limits.
Add in a rant about crazy Yanks, the challenges of raising kids, plus what’s on our screens and in our headphones right now.
As always, it’s unfiltered, unladylike and definitely not safe for small ears.

In this episode, we’re talking drought, dodgy politics and turning 50. Throw in some parenting, peri-menopause, volunteering, a kid moving out, and an overseas escape, and you’ve got one hell of a midlife mixtape.

It’s been a red hot minute but we blew off Phallic Phil to bring you another episode of the 40’s Project.
Among other things, Abbie put a silver lining around telling her son she was Santa and Melissa contemplated the situation of her vagina neck.
Love, loss and a giant Trump dump all squeezed into 30 minutes!

We joined the Dull Women’s Club and feel right at home!
While Abbie relishes a Saturday night at home Melissa’s highlight is the daily Wordle.
We did manage a non-dull activity by hitting the Adelaide Oval on a scorching night to see Pink!
A guilt ridden concert but what a show!
We touch on our highs and lows, take a trip down memory lane, swear a bit, make each other laugh and sip on Clare Valley wine as we bring you another episode of The 40’s Project.

We took our microphone Phallic Phil on a road trip to the beautiful Yorke Peninsula in South Australia.
He enjoyed some salty air while he recorded a long and overdue podcast from your favourite friends in their 40’s.

We’ve been working hard lately with our heads down and bums up at Greater SA but we took some time out and hooked up our beloved microphone Phallic Phil. It reminded us how much we like talking shit and having a good belly laugh! It’s our therapy.
Abbie caught up with Darren Scholz, aka Sholzy who is on an ‘adventure’ down a road he didn’t choose to travel as he begins treatment for prostate cancer. He and his wife Carolyn are now on a quest to spread awareness and save men’s lives!
As always, there’s a few swear words, background noise (this time grain trucks) and a discovery that a bird in the bush is actually more worthy that two in the hand because - poo.
