On October 15, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we are making space for a conversation that deserves to be heard.
In this deeply personal episode of The Green Thread Podcast, we explore stillbirth, the unseen weight of grief, the lasting reality of motherhood after loss, and why remembering our babies matters.
For me, this day is also my son's fourth birthday. I'm sharing this conversation on a day that holds both profound love and profound loss, in honor of him and every family who knows what it means to carry a child in their heart while learning to navigate life without them physically here.
We talk about the loneliness that can follow pregnancy loss, the importance of acknowledging a baby's existence, the complicated emotions surrounding birthdays and anniversaries, and the ways we can support bereaved parents without expecting them to move on or find a silver lining.
There is no timeline for grief. There is no requirement to be strong. And there is no expiration date on a parent's love.
Whether you've experienced a loss yourself or want to better understand someone who has, this episode is an invitation to listen with compassion.
For every baby remembered. For every parent still carrying the love. You are not forgotten.
Content note: This episode discusses stillbirth, pregnancy and infant loss, and grief.

🌿 Your Environment Is Part of Your Health: The People, Places & Habits Shaping Your Wellness
What if your environment is affecting your health more than you realize?
In this episode of the Holistic Homesteaders Healing & Wellness podcast, we’re looking beyond food, supplements, and herbal remedies to explore the environments we live in every day.
We’re talking about your home, your relationships, your digital world, your food environment, stress, time in nature, sunlight, gardening, boundaries, and the people you allow into your life.
Because whole health isn't just about what you put into your body. It's also about what you're constantly surrounding yourself with.
🌱 Can your home support rest?
🌱 Is your digital environment draining you?
🌱 Which relationships nourish you—and which leave you depleted?
🌱 How can gardening and nature reconnect us with ourselves?
🌱 What small changes can create a healthier environment?
You don't have to change your entire life overnight. Sometimes wellness begins with one boundary, one habit, one plant, or simply stepping outside.
Your health doesn't exist in a vacuum. You're a whole person living inside a whole environment.

🌿 Herbalism & Traditional Wellness: What Our Ancestors Knew About Caring for the Body
What can traditional wellness teach us about how we care for ourselves today?
In this episode of the Holistic Homesteaders Healing & Wellness podcast, we’re going back to the roots of herbalism—exploring traditional plant knowledge, home herbal preparations, food, self-sufficiency, observation, and the connection between our health and the world around us.
We’ll talk about why herbalism is about much more than drinking tea, why “natural” doesn’t automatically mean safe, how to begin learning herbs responsibly, and how traditional knowledge can complement—not necessarily replace—modern healthcare.
🌱 Learn one plant at a time.
🌱 Reconnect with traditional knowledge.
🌱 Grow your own skills and confidence.
🌱 Build wellness from the roots up.
This is a conversation about plants, people, self-sufficiency, community, and remembering the knowledge that deserves to be carried forward.

🌿 Learn. Grow. Heal. Connect.
We talk about the problems all around us—food insecurity, health, women’s health, the struggles facing our children, disappearing practical skills, information overload, loneliness, and the loss of real community.
But what happens when we stop asking, “Who is going to fix this?” and start asking, “What can we build?”
In this episode of The Green Thread, Courtney takes a deeper look at the issues affecting everyday people and the importance of education, self-reliance, connection, critical thinking, and passing knowledge from one generation to the next.
And somewhere along the way, she hints at something that has been quietly taking shape behind the scenes—something involving women, girls, education, community, voice, and legacy.
The name isn't being revealed yet.
Neither are the details.
But the roots are already growing.
Follow the thread.
