Our reading today from the Gospel of John reveals that Jesus Christ is Lord over WHAT IS and WHAT IS TO BECOME. This means that when we follow Jesus, we must open our mind and heart to transformation, and anticipate that God is going to radically change us. We have "names" for nearly everything in life. Names for loved ones, favorite activities, dreams, goals, and the desires of our heart. Furthermore, everything that we give a "name" to tends to operate in our life within a spectrum of most to least important. However, the Bible teaches that there is "one name above every other name." Thus, the "Great Reversal" of the gospel message is that when Jesus Christ becomes Lord of our life, then every other "name" must become secondary to his Lordship.   

The Bible is full of incredible examples of answered prayers. If we have evidence of God's ability and desire to meet all our needs, what prevents us from asking God for the desires of our heart?
