What makes you think you are going to heaven? How well you behave? How good you are? How bad you ain’t? This is a strong but needed question to ask ourselves….Hopefully you have the correct answer. (Jesus) Wild Will throws a bonus in this message as he prepares his famous shredded chicken crock pot meal prep and recipe with y’all. 

A glimpse of my really unique and almost 200 year old Bible that has family names and birthdates inside from the early 1800’s. One year my wife and I flew to Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo and we took the Bible with us and on down to the pawn shop known as the tv show “Pawn Stars”. They just so happened to be filming an episode and the book appraisal lady was already there. It looked like fate had lined the entire thing up but Pawn Stars owner Rick erupted with a horrible outburst screaming (off camera) that he doesn’t buy religious artifacts. We were quickly shuffled out the door. (He didn’t know it but I wasn’t going to let him buy it anyway) 

Over the years, folks often mistake my stories and testimonies for gloating on myself. But the actual truth is that as Christians, we are supposed to be bragging on and glorifying God everywhere we go. (Magnify the Lord.) Our lives should be an outspoken example of all of the ways that God has changed us and made our lives better. Like a shining light….Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Wild Will uses a recent experience where two old friends of his rejected him in a time of need when he called on them for help. The Old Testament biblical story of Joseph and how he was also rejected by his own brothers teaches us that God often uses other people in our lives to push us into His divine will for our lives by having them do things to us that cause pain and discomfort. Had Joseph’s own brothers not sold him into slavery he would not had the opportunity to interpret the kings dream and then been placed as governor over all the land and people, which led to him saving his own family many years after their rejection.   

Starting young horses and raising kids is a very similar process. Some colts and some kids will take a little more pressure than others, and some will blow up and run off if you ask them too much too quick. It takes the wisdom of the Lord to know how to tip-toe the very fine line between messing up a good one or making it into a world champ. Building and establishing a foundation of “trust” is the absolute most important thing. Time, patience, and repetition complete the process. 

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get up every morning and check Jesus’ social pages to see what He is up to for the day? To be able to text Jesus say, “I need some advice.” Etc. Well, the written word of God combined with the inner voice and leadership of the Holy Spirit is what should be guiding us on everything we do. We must continue in Gods word to have it permeate and saturate our minds.

Even livestock understand the natural pecking order of “not” messing with the old bull. We can all learn from this reminder that we should Honor and respect God, and our earthly fathers. That is where the blessing is.

We have all heard folks say “The truth will set you free.” Scripture actually says, “If you continue in My word, you will be My disciples, then you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

God created men to be warriors, not couch potaters. Our bodies are literally the temple of the Holy Spirit and God wants us to take care of his house. (Our bodies)
