Andrew Fockel: Already Enough and Still Becoming
In this conversation:
• Perfectionism and the pressure to prove yourself
• Andrew and Natalie’s ten-year infertility journey
• What happens when control stops working
• Being present when you can’t fix someone’s pain
• Faith, suffering, grace, and expectations
• Growing from a place of worth instead of trying to earn it
• Learning to be okay with being in process
What happens when the things you’ve spent your life relying on—working harder, getting it right, staying in control—stop working?
In this episode, I sit down with my friend Andrew Fockel for an honest conversation about perfectionism, the pressure to prove your worth, and a ten-year journey through infertility that challenged some of his deepest assumptions about himself, faith, control, relationships, and how life is supposed to work.
We talk about what it’s like to love someone who is hurting when you can’t fix what they’re going through. We explore the difference between trying to make everything okay and simply being present in the middle of it.
And somewhere along the way, the conversation leads Andrew to a powerful realization: maybe the love, acceptance, and wholeness he has spent so much of his life looking for aren’t somewhere out ahead of him.
Maybe he already has what he needs today.
Already enough. And still becoming.
