We step away from Isaiah in this message to discuss how Jesus encouraged his disciples when explaining that he would be leaving them.  He promised a comforter would come and continue to lead and guide them.

God revealed Himself to Isaiah as a way of showing the nation who it is they keep betraying.

Isaiah 1-5 are the prelude and overview of all the issues Israel has had as well as the hope for the future.

The prophet Isaiah wrote at one of Israel's most tumultuous and tragic eras as a nation.  We can learn a lot from what God had to say to them.

Jesus and Barabbas stood next to each other one day.  Their differences couldn't have been more stark and everyone still has a choice in who to follow.

We live in the life of resurrection every day, not just Easter.

The night began with a passover meal and ended with Jesus on trial.  This is the encounter of those trials and the final responses to Christ's claims to be the Messiah.

The disciples would leave in the chaos being night-fished and Jesus would be left vulnerable to drink the cup of suffering.  What in the world does that all mean!?

Jesus is looking ahead, telling his followers what will come in the next couple of days.  And there are two very different responses.

We don't drift into being spiritually formed by God.  It takes intentionality and a desire to be like Jesus.
