The UFC and USADA made a bold move in standing behind Jon Jones and moving an entire event just to save one fight. The consequences of their decision regarding the picograms of banned metabolites found in his system can have an effect on the credibility of the organization moving forward.
Lets talk MMA.
Anthony Joshua, via his manager/promoter Eddie Hearn, has pulled out of the Deontay Wilder fight and decided to take sign on to fight a different opponent.
This is extremely frustrating, disappointing and sadly expected from a sport that has a hard time making us, the fans, believe that it is on the level. From signs of corrupt judging to selective matchmaking, it too often seems like the fix is in for one markee fighter over the other.
In this case, it seemed that the Joshua team created hurdle after hurdle and put up roadblock after roadblock to keep this fight from being made. They tried to force the Wilder team to be the ones to say no to the fight, but when they continued to accept each and every new and unexpected condition placed on them, it was Anthony Joshua and his team that decided that they would not finalize negotiations and would walk away from potentially the biggest fight of the decade.
This is what is wrong with boxing, this is why it's hard to be a fan of this sport, this is why for a somewhat casual like me to get invested in the ridiculous amounts of organizations and titles that exist, and why should I? Why? If the best of the best is just going to tango around contracts and avoid making fights happen until it is way too late?
At least MMA tries to give fans what they want, whether by putting the most loved/hated fighters versus each other or by making fights between the best fighters in each division. Boxing is still being boxing. It doesn't even try to hide the stench of foul play and dirty deals and while I admire the fighters and respect what they do, way too few promotors wield way too much power in the matchmaking process. This leads to matches that protect their cash cows versus matches that represent the best of the sport.
The truly sad part is that the ones that have to pay (literally and figuratively) are the fans. That's why it's hard to grow the fanbase of a sport that barely seems sportsmanlike in how it does business. That's why it's hard to get friends to believe in the validity of champions that avoid the toughest challenges. That's why boxing stays the same while all other sports seem to be growing their fanbase.
Big Cass got a little too big for his bridges and has been released by the WWE. It is sad to see a wrestler with so much potential leave the biggest wrestling company in the world because of attitude problems. To be clear, there was not one thing that got Big Cass fired, but instead multiple little issues that just kept coming up with him.
In this episode, I talk about what caused this situation and what is going to come from it. Big Cass still has plenty of potential and is young enough to create a brand new reputation in the indies and be welcomed back with open arms to WWE in 4 or 5 years.
Alright, lets talk wrestling!
Deadpool 2 is the sequel we've all been waiting for since the original Deadpool movie came out, but is it worth going to a movie theater to watch it? That's what I'll be talking about today!

Wonderboy's trapped because of how he's decided to fight lately, trapped because his division is so good and trapped because of the risks he won't take.

There are 3 main issues holding WWE back. It's time we tackle them one by one.
UFC 223 has had its Main Event changed. What in the blue hell is going on!?! Listen to this quick release episode to get up to date on this PPV.
WWE officially announced today that Daniel Bryan has been cleared to return to the ring. It was stated that he was medically cleared by neurologists and concussion experts, including Dr. Robert Cantu, Dr. Javier Cárdenas and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher. It was noted that he was also cleared by WWE's Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon.
Bryan's last match was in April of 2015 when he suffered a concussion. He retired the following February after an EEG test revealed slowing of brain activity and a "small, subacute lesion" in an area of his brain that causes seizures. Bryan was on the Edge & Christian podcast last August and revealed that his retirement may have been premature.
Now we know he was right and Daniel Bryan is back in the business he loves most! Yes, he never left, but Daniel Bryan can now wrestle again in a WWE ring again!
The Wilder vs. Ortiz fight card took place March 3 at the Barclays Center in New York City, New York. WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 knockouts) took on Luis Ortiz (28-1) in the night’s main event, which aired live on Showtime.
Deontay Wilder is bringing boxing back into the spotlight in the best possible way. If you are a wrestling or MMA fan, you should definitely be following this amazing athlete. He's entertaining, he's athletic and he delivers... to the tune of 39 KOs in 40 fights.
