Ignaz Semmelweis was a Hungarian Physician who hypothesized about the importance of washing hands for hygiene. It was a very particular case study in Vienna that led him to his conclusion, but no one took him seriously. It wasn't until after his death that he was recognized as a medical revolutionary.
