Rueben has worked for the Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department as a student assistant in sports information and facilities and equipment and Northwestern University. While at Baldwin Wallace, Rueben was a student-athlete earned two varsity letters in football.

Episode 5 of The Guys in the Cheap Seats with Charles Campisi features Alex Lumb. Alex is one of the Assistant Sports Information Directors for the United States Naval Academy (Go Midshipmen!). 

Alex is in his sixth year with the Naval Academy and is the primary media contact for women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country and the gymnastics and rowing programs. Alex has also worked at Marist College and is the assistant general manager for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Episode 4 of The Guys in the Cheap Seats with Charles Campisi features Shari Mangas. Shari is the Assistant Director of Equipment Operations for the United States Naval Academy (Go Midshipmen!) and a Baldwin Wallace University Sport Management alum. 

Shari has worked for the Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department, Ohio University, and dominated the Cleveland Indians Collegiate Sales Competition when she was a student at Baldwin Wallace. While at Baldwin Wallace, she was also member of Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and a basketball student-athlete. During her hoops career, Mangas shot 38% from three, 82% from the free throw line (40% and 91% her senior year) and played in two NCAA tournaments, helping BW to the Sweet Sixteen in her junior year.

Episode 3 of The Guys in the Cheap Seats with Charles Campisi features Dr. Jesse Jones and Dr. Lori Long of Baldwin University. They are here to talk about the new Hospitality and Tourism major launching in Fall 2019 at Baldwin Wallace University.

Dr. Long is the Chair of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship and a professor of management. At Baldwin Wallace she instructs courses in management, ethics, human resources and entrepreneurship. Lori is also a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Innovation and Growth. Lori is also the President of LK Consulting LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in working with small and start-up firms. 

Dr. Jones is the co-founder of Adventure University, a partnership between Baldwin Wallace University and the Cleveland Metroparks, and has worked in the hospitality industry for several years, including stints in the ski industry in Park City, UT, as an outdoor adventure guiding in Jackson Hole, WY, and as a Japanese Travel and Tour Guiding. He was also a logistics coordinator for Jet Set Sports during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Episode 2 of The Guys in the Cheap Seats with Dr. Charles Campisi is a special episode. This is a recording of a presentation by the COO of the Historical Basketball League David West. West is joined briefly by HBL CEO Ricky Volante.

West, a two-time NBA Champion and All Star, played 15 seasons in the NBA after being drafted by the New Orleans Hornets with the 18th pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft. During his NBA career, West was selected to two All Star games and averaged 13.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. West’s collegiate career culminated with him being selected AP National Player of the Year, winning the Oscar Robertson Trophy, and being named Consensus First-Team All-American. In his new role with the HBL, West will oversee recruiting, scouting, player performance, and NBA relations.

Volante is an Attorney at Buckley King and the Chief Executive Officer of the Historical Basketball League. With the HBL, Volante oversees the daily operations of the company, including structuring the corporation, hiring key personnel, recruiting universities, identifying and on-boarding investors, scouting talent and negotiating corporate agreements, while also navigating the waters of collegiate sports.
