This is something we get a lot.
We understand wanting to have your ducks in a row before hiring a Client Account Manager, but we're here to tell you that your agency does 𝘯𝘰𝘵 need to have SOP's, workflows, or even specific roles for the CAM before hiring someone like us (DOT!).
In all honesty, it works better for us if you DON'T have all of your systems in place, so we can help you write the book as you grow.
When getting ready to hire, here are the main things to consider as you prep:
"Ok, I want to hire! What do I do next?"
Awesome! Email us for a chat to see if we think you need a CAM role and to talk about the options you have. We can help you determine if outsourcing or keeping in-house is the best move. After all, we are the experts!
Cheers, to happy clients.

We’ve been there - we’ve seen it all - we always talk about how GREAT our clients are, and yes - they’re AWESOME.
But sometimes it all goes sour, and being the client-facing piece to the marketing puzzle, we need to make sure we’re cool, calm and collected.
Clients will get angry, they will have issues— and here’s how you tackle them 👇
First - don’t puff up! Being defensive isn’t a good look. Just think, if you reverse the roles, would you like to be on the receiving end? We’re gonna say no.
Second - make sure you come prepared. Navigating angry clients can be uncomfortable, so get your ducks in a row, think before you speak, and make sure you hold your own. You need a pep talk— you won’t be walked over and you know what to say.
Third - it has to go both ways. There is an ebb and flow to every relationship, you hear them and they hear you. And, if all goes according to plan, the conversation is mature and positive. As Client Account Managers, we absorb this role, and usually, agency owners and team members are happy to let us do so.
So remember, you’ve got this. Tune into the full episode for all of our tricky client navigation tips and tricks!

Let's talk about client reporting. It's a huge piece of our client management role. Client reporting is usually good (but sometimes it's bad!) and we are generally the people who are communicating this to clients.
When looking for ways to improve your hiring process, the interview portion is so key for capturing insight into top talent. Virtual interviews also mean it's that much harder to pick up on someone's vibes, social cues or demeanor when they don't have a screen (or script!) in front of them. So what do we do?
We use a hybrid approach where we start with a casual phone call/coffee chat before moving into more hard skill-focused assessments and cases where we look for star Client Account Manager qualities. It's all about doing a gut-check and gathering as much insight to a candidate as you can before signing them on as your next unicorn 🦄
