Alright folks, this isn't your typical Monday. A low-level trough is marching through the islands right now. And it's bringing the kind of weather that makes you double-check your rain gutters. We're talking heavy rain, thunderstorms. And flood threats for most of the state. The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch up for every island except the Big Island.. Though they're not exactly dry either.

Let's break it down. Oahu, you're in the thick of it. Thunderstorms kick off at 1 A.M. Tonight with a 65 percent chance of heavy rain. Winds flip from east-northeast to north around 5 A.M.. And by noon you'll hit 76 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Tonight? More storms, with lows at 69 degrees.

Big Island, you're already soaked. Thunderstorms started at 5 A.M. This morning and keep rolling through tonight, peaking at 81 percent around 6 P.M. That's the heaviest rain of the day. Highs reach just 75 degrees, but you could see 1 to 2 inches of rain in spots. Winds shift from west to north around 8 A.M.

Maui, you're caught in the middle. Thunderstorms started at 1 A.M. And linger all day, with a 53 percent chance of heavy rain early. You'll warm to 77 degrees by noon, but gusty northeast winds up to 24 miles an hour will make it feel wild.

Now here's the big concern. Flooding. The ground is already saturated. And this new system could push streams over their banks. Avoid low-lying roads. And the ocean? A High Surf Warning kicks in at noon for north and east-facing shores, with waves 18 to 25 feet. That's life-threatening surf. Stay out of the water.

The good news? This clears out by midweek. Wednesday through Friday, we're back to typical trade wind weather with highs 77 to 81 degrees. By the weekend, sunny skies and temps near 80.

Yesterday's storm barely left a trace — two-hundredths of an inch of rain. But overnight? Hana got hammered with three to four inches per hour. Meanwhile, the Big Island summits woke up to snow. Yes, snow in Hawaii. Winter Weather Advisories expire at 6 A.M., but slick roads and freezing fog could hang around through sunrise up there.

That upper-level trough is finally lifting north. Oahu starts with scattered showers and thunderstorms before noon, then partly sunny skies take over. You'll hit 80 degrees with light west-northwest winds shifting around 8 A.M. Over on Maui, thunderstorms roll in right at sunrise, then you're looking at 81 degrees — though temps drop to 75 by afternoon as winds swing from southwest to west around 2 P.M. Big Island? Isolated storms early, then scattered showers and a high of 77 degrees. Winds shift from west-northwest to northeast by 8 A.M.

Now here's the kicker: Monday brings more rain. A new shortwave trough swings in, reigniting heavy downpours — especially Oahu and Maui. Tuesday, trade winds roar back at 18 miles an hour, focusing showers on windward slopes. Midweek, a ridge builds and dries us out. Surf's the wild card — north-northeast swells build Monday, hitting warning levels by Tuesday. Expect erosion and harbor surges in Kahului and Hilo.

Sunrise at 6:58 A.M., sunset at 6:34 P.M. — we're gaining one minute and ten seconds of daylight.

That means 70 degrees with a breeze that feels like nature's fan. Rain? About a coin flip. Most spots stay dry, but keep a light layer handy just in case. Tonight those winds ease off and things stay mild.

Now hop over to the Big Island. Here's the deal. It's sitting at 65 degrees with light southwest winds. Less trade wind cooling means more warmth on your skin. Sun and clouds trading places all day. Rain chances are about half, but nothing that'll wreck your plans. Maui's matching that 65 degrees with brisker winds near 9 miles an hour. And here's the thing. Maui's the driest island today. Only a slight chance of showers. Perfect weather for getting outside if you ask me.

Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Trade winds weaken through Monday, letting highs creep up a degree or two. Enjoy that. By midweek, moisture sneaks back in bringing scattered showers. Nothing dramatic. Just February reminding you it still exists. Air quality sits at moderate today, so sensitive groups, you'll want to take it easy outdoors.
