Today’s guest is Sue Humphrey, a three-time Olympic track and field coach, and author. Her pioneer work at Arizona State University led to new standards of what women in track and field coaching aspired to be. Her insight on the high-jump was well-sought after, as she coached greats including Jackie Joyner-Kersee and in the 1996 Olympics Charles Austin to a Gold Medal. Her book, I Want to Run: The Olympic Developmental Training and Nutritional Guide for Young and Teen Track Runners Ages 10 to 18, is a blueprint for young, aspiring athletes, their parents, and coaches on how to be competitive in track and field events from scholastic meets to the Olympics.
