As women we get to choose to let one outcome limit us, or decide that we will find the solution that works best for us. I get to sit down with former Ms. Arkansas Plus, Shayla Alexander and discuss her journey. It has indeed been a journey of the heart to get to her special baby as she most affectionately refers to her son, Noah.  

As if being a mom isn't already a tough job, it's even tougher when you experience the loss of a child. But, the strength that moms have is amazing. As we approach Mother's Day...I think about all of the women who have 'mothered' me over the years. I think about the sacrifice of those women and all the times those women stood behind me during my celebrations as well as my losses. Today we celebrate all moms, auntie moms, bonus moms, godmoms and grandmothers. Also, I  recognize my mom and share the lessons I've learned from her.
