In the first episode of this multi-part series, Here’s the Tower’s investigative journalist team digs into an unsolved case from four decades ago.

On April 24, 1979, the residents in the quiet town of Haniston, Kentucky, were left reeling in shock after three masked criminals pulled off a daring robbery at Pleasant Valley Savings Bank. Suspicions and theories still surround the case 40 years later.

In the series, we’ll hear archival clips from news reports, as well as firsthand accounts from people who were on the scene when the heist unfolded.  The crime was expertly coordinated and according to one witness, “What they done in there was real surgical. It was real surgical like.”
