On this episode, I continue the new series on the history of hermeneutics. I begin to summarize the seven exegetical or hermeneutical rules of Rabbi Hillel and give examples of how said rules are used in exegesis or interpretation. 

On this episode, I have the conclusion of my interview with Dr. Richard Barcellos on the subject of: "The entire New Testament is based on Jesus' view of himself in relation to the Old Testament." This is the beginning of a four part tweet Dr. Barcellos posted to Twitter on the 28 September 2020. Dr. Barcellos clarifies, "The sinless Son of God saw the Old Testament as that which pointed to him. The authors of the books of the NT not only agreed with this assessment, they wrote in light of it." I asked Dr. Barcellos to join me on the podcast and elaborate on the series of tweets and I believe the discussion will be a blessing to us all.

On this episode, I continue the new series on the history of hermeneutics. I begin with Ezra and show how Ezra's ministry launched a new concept of oral interpretation and translation, which would eventually become the Talmud. From Ezra to Hillel, the oral tradition continued to grow. It was Hillel who instituted the rules of hermeneutics used in the rabbinic system. 

On this episode, I am joined by Dr. James White, director of Alpha and Omega Ministries. Dr. White is a professor, having taught Greek, Systematic Theology, and various topics in the field of apologetics for numerous schools. He has authored or contributed to more than twenty four books, including The King James Only Controversy, The Forgotten Trinity, The Potter's Freedom, The God Who Justifies, and more. He is an accomplished debater, having engaged in more than one hundred seventy-four moderated, public debates; as well as a Pastor/Elder of Apologia Church in Arizona. He has been married to Kelli for more than thirty-nine years, and has two children, and four grandchildren.
