Karen Chen is currently a Product Manager working in a nonprofit that uses design to foster healthy and engaged communities. She started her career as a project/product manager at General Electric. After 5 years living in different cities with GE, she took a year off to attend theater school, before working in various tech startups in New York City. In her free time she enjoys rushing for Broadway shows and running half marathons.

My English name is Jasmine Ye. My Chinese name is Jianan, which means the land of milk and honey. Born in China, I only spent half of my life in my homeland. I followed my parents to Singapore in elementary school and came to the United States for high school in Chicago and College in Boston. During College, I got to study abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. In between breaks, I traveled all over the world to Korea, Vietnam, UK etc. I consider myself a fusion of Eastern and Western culture. It took me a long while to finally find the balance between my Eastern and Western identities. I love to compare the Eastern culture to tea, and Western culture to milk. Now that I can fully embrace myself as a cup of milk-tea (which happened to be my favorite drink,) that is able to clearly distinguish the “tea” and the “milk” part of myself.
Because of my various studying abroad experience, I was invited by the international student network founded by my high school, WAnet, to share about my experience back in my hometown Xiamen, China to attract more prospective students/parents. The more I did it, the better I got at public speaking and convincing people to study abroad. Four years into that process (at the end of my freshman year) my city, Xiamen, has become the biggest international student population that is attending the WAnet high schools. Later on, I was invited by WAnet’s English summer camp and another similar camp the following year to be the communications coordinator.
Currently, I am a Senior double majoring in Business and Economics, minoring in Mathematics at Gordon College. Due to my multicultural experiences, I started to realize the impact of businesses in people’s lives. So, I started a venture model with my partner Caleb, and ended up winning the entrepreneurial competition in Gordon College with our venture ShuDong -- an online peer support app designed for incoming international college students. Through this experience, I got to meet many business professionals and became fascinated about corporate business, venture capital, and finance. I am still looking for jobs, but I am excited to work for an international firm where I can bring value to an international firm (or a firm seeking to develop internationally) that seeks not only profit maximization, but also to enrich social welfare and cultural diversity.

Originally hailing from a farm in rural Ohio, Kathleen Gauder moved to the Big Apple in 2008 to get her Master's degree in Psychology at City College of New York. Upon graduation, she decided to enter the business world and began her career in media content licensing, eventually getting into tech in 2013 as an Account Manager at Shutterstock. After winning a few sales awards at Shutterstock, she moved on to the SaaS and startup space as both an Account Executive and Customer Success Manager. Julia Seraphine is a Social Media Prodigy who is in the 94th percentile for cognitive ability. She has had a nontraditional education path as she went to community college to get an Associates Degree, take a gap year, and transfer as opposed to going to a four year university from the start. She also grew up with a learning disability and has taken care of her two disabled parents for her entire life. Currently, Julia freelances as a social media manager with clients from all over the world at the age of only 21 years old.

Dale Troy is a mom to three daughters, a former lawyer and former headhunter for lawyers. She's a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School. Following her passion for healthy living, Dale became a health coach 6 years ago.
She focuses on helping students and their parents manage the stress of college.
