Hi! I’m Karen Hall, Host of The Hero Within Podcast.  Today’s episode features reflections on Karen Wilson's story, "Releasing Resentment."  If you missed it,  be sure to listen!

Why is forgiving another person so hard?  It's because it hurts.  

We all experience emotional pain as part of being human.  We can’t change the ways that others behave, but we can control how we act.  

How do we forgive?  Today, I reflect on lessons from  Desmond Tutu.  
You'll learn: 

*The 5 vital steps: 

1. Being able to tell your story, after you have given yourself some time and feel ready. 
2. Describe and name how you have been hurt.
3. Consciously choose to forgive. 
4. Release or renew the relationship.

*Walk a mile in his moccasins.

*What the splinter and the log teach us.

*Having compassion allows acceptance.

*Forgiveness is not the same as condoning.

*Asking for what you need is a sign of courage and grace.

*Forgiveness is the way we heal the world, starting in our own heart.

With lots of practice, self development tools, and divine help, the Lord answered my prayers and enabled me to forgive .  Forgiveness is a divine gift.

Like Karen Wilson, if I can do it, you can too!

Hi! I’m Karen Hall, Host of The Hero Within Podcast.  Thanks so much for being here!  

Today, we hear how Ashley Terry dealt with a debilitating stroke when she was only 35 years old!  She had 5 young children at home and had to learn to eat, walk, talk and care for herself.  She felt the Lord comfort her and reassure her that He had preserved her life because she still had purposes to fulfill.

*How Ashley’s stroke was misdiagnosed for over 4 days (before 12:14)

*The Lord revealed to Ashley what her purpose was after her stroke.

*What sustained Ashley while re-learning to walk, talk, eat and care for herself.

*The additional setback when Ashley nearly reached her 1 year milestone after her stroke.

Like Kathryn Wilson, host of the podcast Unstoppable-J_o_y, I felt confused and frustrated.  I knew God had the power to do anything, and I’d seen Him perform miracles for others and in my own life.  I wondered why He wouldn’t grant me my righteous desire.  In this episode, I reflect on Kathryn Wilson’s episode “God sees brokenness as beautiful,” and I share my own wrestle with God.  

I discuss how my faith and trust in God grew during my wrestle with Him.
