We live between two worlds. We belong to the kingdom of God, but we're still learning how to live in a world that doesn't always reflect his character. This Sunday, as Israel arrives at Sinai, we'll discover that God hasn't rescued us simply to leave Egypt behind. He's rescued us to belong to him—and he's forming us to show the world what life with him looks like.
It's one thing to say we trust God. It's another thing to live as though we do. This Sunday, we'll watch Moses learn that the wilderness isn't something we're meant to carry alone—and discover what it means to let God, and the people he's placed around us, carry us.
What happens when we find ourselves saying, “Not again”? The wilderness has a way of revealing what is still hiding in our hearts—but it also reveals something else: God's grace keeps flowing. This Sunday, we'll remember what God has done, remember that he is with us, and learn again to trust his faithfulness.
Our hunger often reveals that our hearts are still in Egypt. As Israel learns to live in the wilderness, God begins teaching them that freedom means learning to trust, receive, and rest in him. This Sunday, we'll ask where our hearts are, what they fear, and what they need.
What has your ears probably has your heart, too.
In the wilderness, Israel discovered that leaving Egypt was easier than unlearning Egypt—and that God doesn't simply rescue us, he heals us. This Sunday, we'll ask what voices are shaping us, and whether the voice we're listening to is breaking us or making us whole.
We know how to get out of Egypt. But how do we learn to live as people who have been set free? As we begin our journey through Exodus, we'll discover that salvation is not simply about being rescued from something—it is about being formed for life with God.
We spend so much of our lives trying to make the good life happen. But what if the life we're longing for isn't something we have to create at all? This Sunday, Psalm 92 invites us to stop striving, receive what God has already given, and discover that the good life is a gift—and the gift is Christ.
We all want to be known. And yet, we're often afraid of letting anyone see who we really are. What if the walls we build to protect ourselves are also keeping us from the good life? This Sunday, Psalm 139 invites us to stop hiding and discover the freedom of being fully known by God.
Our days are fleeting, and yet we spend so much of them wishing they were different. This Sunday, Psalm 90 teaches us to receive our days as a gift, to savor the life God has given us, and to learn the wisdom of truly living.
Ordinary Time is long. So is life. And sooner or later, we all discover that grit, determination, and willpower can only carry us so far. This Sunday, Psalm 121 reminds us of a freeing truth: the good life isn't found in holding everything together—it's found in learning to be sustained by our faithful Keeper.
