As the COVID death toll numbers drop daily, it’s the unintended consequences of this pandemic that are coming into the light. While a large portion of lucky citizens managed to escape the virus, they did not manage to escape other ailments that came as a result of the pandemic. Alcohol consumption, drug overdoses, and mental health illnesses have been at an all-time high over the past year. Many doctors are now left dealing with patients who have been “broken” by the pandemic.
