  • 705 Book Reflection – This is Marketing: You Can’t Be Seen Until You Learn to See by Seth Godin
    This is Marketing

    Written by Leigh Martinuzzi

Seth Godin is the marketing guru – the king of marketing. He sure knows his stuff. As I stated in a recent review of his podcast Akimbo, aside from extreme marketing prowess what makes Seth so attractable is his ability to communicate both elegantly and clearly. It is one of the traits that I truly admire about Seth.

This book captures the brilliance of Seth’s knowledge on marketing in an easy to read format that will make us humble marketers or sceptics reframe what marketing is and why it exists.

Seth defines what marketing is and what it isn’t. With work that has transformed how successful entrepreneurs and businesses communicate with their people, their tribes, the market, I would suggest Seth is a worthy source to learn from.

  • 703 Finding Happiness: Some Practical Advice – by Leigh Martinuzzi
    Finding Happiness

    By Leigh Martinuzzi

The primary pursuit in life is happiness. Well, that is at least my belief and despite that, I also understand it’s not. I realise that in the deeper constructs of our human being there are more purposeful motivations in life. The fundamentals of life – love, connection, status, certainty, progress, reproduction, and survival, to name a few. Regardless, for many of us, happiness seems to occupy a decent level of focus in our lives. The question I ask is what is it and how do we find it?

Arising from our core human needs stems from our surface level motivations. On a daily basis, it is very unlikely that we make the connection between a surface level motivation and its fundamental source or human need.

  • 699 Life: A Hike Remembered – Find What Ignites You – by Leigh Martinuzzi
    Find What Ignites You

    By Leigh Martinuzzi

Doing what we love. Breaking free from the monotony of everyday life is freeing. It will bring us beyond confusion and unease into a clearer sense of what matters in life. It can lead us to a deeper sense of purpose in life. When we return, for whatever period we escaped, we are better able to face the challenges ahead.

Take the time out to pursue what you desire. If it doesn't ignite you there is no great loss, just lessons in time. Nothing ventured nothing gained. If however, you deny these experiences you will limit the grandness that may otherwise ignite your life. This life is a hike to be remembered, and we will experience it more beautifully by doing what ignites us.

  • 697 Book Reflection – The Brendon Show a Podcast by Brendon Burchard
    The Brendon Show

Since reading one of Brendon’s earlier books years ago, The Motivation Manifesto, a book that suggests a key human motive in the pursuit of life is personal freedom, I have found his speech and use of words encouraging. A reason why I remain a subscriber of Brendon's work. Although I admit, I can only handle so much at a time because I find it sometimes a little repetitive and Brendon sometimes over the top and unnecessarily enthusiastic.

The Brendon Show remains on my podcast playlist as a go-to source of inspiration, positivity and occasionally the odd tip, trick and practices to help me on my journey forward.
