What happens when we slow down and really look at the questions God asked Job?

In this episode of The High Places, we take a fascinating look at the science woven throughout the book of Job. As God responds to Job, He points him toward the wonders of creation—the foundations of the earth, the depths of the sea, the clouds, the weather, the stars, and the incredible design of the animal kingdom.

Long before modern science could begin to explain many of these things, God was reminding Job of something much greater than the answers to his questions: the Creator knows what He is doing.

This episode explores some of the scientific observations found in Job and what they teach us about God's wisdom, power, and authority over creation.

Sometimes we don't get an answer to our “why.” But when we look at the One who created everything, we can begin to trust the One who knows what we cannot see.

God may not answer every question—but creation itself points us back to the One who has every answer.

Part 3: When God Doesn’t Answer the “Why”

Job has spent chapter after chapter asking the question we’ve all asked at some point: “Why?”But when God finally responds, He never actually answers Job’s question.Instead, God reminds Job of who He is, what He knows, and what Job cannot see. Sometimes we think understanding whywould make the trial easier—but what if knowing the why would actually defeat the purpose of the test?

As we continue looking at God’s response to Job, we’ll wrestle with the uncomfortable truth that God doesn’t always give us explanations. Sometimes, He gives us something better: a deeper understanding of who He is.

Because “The why would defeat the purpose of the test.”

When God doesn’t explain the storm, can we still trust the One who controls it?

Job's friends came expecting to comfort him, but instead they accused him.
