They seem to have either come into Europe or evolved into the Indo-Europeans right at the end of the Neolithic, beginning of the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age, depending on which theory you hold. In this episode we discuss some of the best and worst theories for Indo-European origins.

Today we talk about the murky and difficult to define Mesolithic period in European history. We cover how the Paleolithic cultures became Mesolithic ones in adapting to the new weather patterns brought on by the end of the Pleistocene and the emergence of the Holocene. We cover the Mesolithic rather quickly so that we can get to the Neolithic when things really start to get cooking.

In this episode we'll discover Paleolithic Europe. Beginning with Homo Habilis and his tendency to be a snack for sabre-tooth cats we'll gradually make our way through some of the more important human ancestors in Europe until we make our way to Cro-Magnon man's arrival in Romania. From there we'll discuss some of these early modern human developments until the Pleistocene decides to end and the weather perks up a bit, ushering in a new era, the Mesolithic. But the Mesolithic is for next time.
